Thank you for the condolences. Your words mean so much. I know this isn't JW related but it's healing to talk about what happened. It's just too bad that this keeps happening and the doctors can't seem to figure out why. My wife injects herself with heparin twice a day, eats very well, she does everything they tell her and still we lost him/her. Hopefully the ultrasound with genetics goes well next Tuesday.

We are becoming champions of grief. We lost twin B.
by Darkknight757 inlast week we had a reassurance ultrasound with our ob.
she was just supposed to check heartbeats on the two little ones and they were going strong!
but because she had extra time and she can be quite anal about her work (which is a good thing) she decided to take some measurements.

Last week we had a reassurance ultrasound with our OB. She was just supposed to check heartbeats on the two little ones and they were going strong! But because she had extra time and she can be quite anal about her work (which is a good thing) she decided to take some measurements. Twin A looked good at 16 and 1/2 weeks but twin B was measuring only 14 and 1/2 weeks. Concerned she scheduled us an appointment right away to see Dr. Our OB said that this is of concern with our two previous losses to start preparing for the reality that we are losing twin B.
So Dr. decided to schedule us with our high risk OB to get some more information on what we can do if anything. That was last Thursday. Today we went to see our High risk OB and the associate did a quick ultrasound. Twin A looks ok but there was no movement with twin B, no heartbeat, and hardly any amniotic fluid. The associate was lost for words. He knows our history and he was very compassionate as was our high risk Dr. who sat us down and held my wife's hand and told her it's not her fault.
My poor wife. Personally I'm numb at this point. I just want to sleep. Damn it all. We still have hope with twin A but I'm just waiting to hear more bad news as this seems to be our luck when it comes to pregnancy.

JW Double Standards and Hypocrisy in the Congregation!!!
by Christian Gutierrez ini am sure you have stories as well of elders being a hard ass on many, yet turning a blind eye to the 'sins' of their own family or close connections.
cheers everyone!

You are absolutely correct about that Christian. Being accepted as an elder is so wonderful and you feel like a superhero, wanting to help everyone in the congregation. But in time you realize that the friends are almost all screwed up in one way or another and it drains the life from you. "He's a chronic masterbator." "She had oral sex with her step-brother" "That sister is crazy so make sure you call on her or else she gets mad." Its insane how screwed up many of the friends are.
On topic: our boe made fun of many in the congregation behind closed doors. It really bothered me. The "chronic masterbator" for instance. They would say he cannot as the scripture says, "Get the mastery over it." LULZ all around. Bunch of hypocritical bastards.

How long has it been since you have seen your family?
by Christian Gutierrez inhowdy guys!
so how long has it been since you have seen your jw family or friends?
or do you even care to have them in your life anymore?

Mom don't talk to me anymore since she found out we walked away. My sister keeps asking me what my "status" is???? All our J-Dub friends abandoned us years ago. They really don't matter now anyways as we have made friends since then.
Family that aren't dubs have been great! They took us back in like nothing ever happened. We hadn't had much contact with them in almost twenty years but we got together with a few at a time, explained our situation and they were very understanding.

Missing the Memorial first time in 34 years
by oppostate inmy wife has left to pick someone else's bible study half an hours drive north of us to bring them to the kh 20 minutes south of us, and pick up two other people on the way.. this is the first memorial in 34 years that i won't be at the kh to "celebrate".. if i want to "remember" jesus christ sacrifice and his command to keep doing so, i'm doing so on my own terms.
not controlled by a despotic, oligarchical gobo which directs most attending folks to be there but to "skip" the very thing jesus command explicitly mentions to do.
i'm also convinced that it doesn't have to be exactly on the same lunar month evening as the jewish passover, but that "whenever" it is commemorated by someone, with faith in christ, and belief in his promises it would be best to do it not for show or for the sake of appearances but sincerely out of one's feeling of "communion".. if you are a christian believer are you going to the memorial this year?

This is our first year not going either. We are sitting here, sifting through coupons while watching The Voice wondering how some of these people made it on the show. -

Go bags?
by punkofnice ini heard recently that there was a talk given at the kh about having a 'go bag' ready because the big 'a' must be soooo close as evidenced by syria and the russian jobo thing.. does anyone know if this 'go bag' thing is substantiated in publications or just a local nut job being paranoid and attention seeking?.
i also wonder about this 'go bag' thing, apparently, you need to make sure your biscuits (that's cookies to my over the pond friends), are not out of date.
don't carry water, it's too heavy.. too many questions do i have.

Yea the go-bag thing is quite a few years old. The wife and I made one for the each of us, slowly putting things in it. We even made sure to put a little silver bible in it cause when the big A strikes, you may want to read the passage of how Big J killed kids with a bear for making fun of a bald man.
Edit: I don't remember J attacking false religion yet? So why has Satan turned his attention to "J's" people? Isn't their chronological order a bit off?

by Phizzy inmrs phizzy and myself will be eating out, sure in the knowledge we will not have jw's using the same restaurant.. i may have a cigar along with my brandy at the meal's end to celebrate my (our) freedom..

@ djeggnog
It's understandable that you want to celebrate your black mass but why is it that you talk as a collective and express yourself like you're better than everyone else for celebrating it?
I think the best part of not being a JW anymore is you lose that superiority complex and Borg collective mentality.

We don't know what we will be doing. Probably I'll come home from work, make a yummy dinner for my prego wife and watch a few episodes of Buffy while I fall in and out of sleep on the couch.

When Jesus said "Keep doing this in remembrance of me.", wasn't it in a room full of guys who ate the bread and drunk the wine? A Watcher, how are you following the command by passing it to someone else in effect saying "No!" to your supposed Lord and Savior?
