i can't wait till 2017 comes to an end.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles this year R&R. Sometimes when it rains, it pours and It can make it tough to get through the daily grind. My 2015 was bad but nowhere near what you've been through. I'm very sorry for that.
2017 started rocky but has been looking up. The wife and I got preg in January with twins and although we lost one, the other is doing well. She is one month old as of yesterday and is gestationaly, 31 weeks old.
so as i sit here listening to the sunday morning bs session the elder on the stage yapped about religion and that there can only be one religion leading to god.
he used the illustration of a bicycle wheel.
it has many spokes and they all lead to the center.
That illustration works better for showing that all religions lead to God, not the other way around. Even the elders are getting dumber.
i have seen a few comments about the nwt being an altered version of the bible and i must admit that when they released the new one it did not sit right with me.. i want to read the bible but not the nwt.
i also do not want to read one that has the thee and thou and ye etc because that will do my head in.. what translations do you recommend?.
NIV was a nice translation. It's easy to read and understand. Not sure what the motivation behind bible reading is but if you're looking for truth, find another book entirely.

i've noticed that some elders will insist on getting a special bethel speaker for memorials, special talks, or sometimes for no reason at all!
i believe they are trying build connections they can use later, but who pays for it?
the congregation does and as a former account servant i can tell you airfare isn't all that cheap.
The last memorial I went to had a bethel speaker instead of a local elder. He seriously stunk the place up. It's funny because my old hall had some excellent speakers and they use a guy nobody knew, thinking that he could make "the most boring night of the year" better somehow.
i finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.
i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.
i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.
Just talking to some family last night about this. My wife and I saw many, many in our congregation that were seriously depressed AND or on medication. It was heartbreaking to see.
will they draw a new name out of a hat or do a kiss test i don't know..
Seems to me they may stick to the magic number 7 but they are setting up replacements as they keel over.
