Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow
by MrsR-Awaken inthis is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.
will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.
he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

Has anyone tried printing and distributing the pamphlet from JWFacts.com out in serve us? I told the wife that that's the only thing that will get me back out doing that but then again, staying home on a Saturday morning is even more appealing. -

Why does it seem to be unhappy people who are attracted to the JWs?
by new boy ini have had time to think about this........... i was an attendent for many years.......... and looking up and down the rows at every family that was seating there in the khs........... no one was happy!.
i think of my mother (who brought this religion into our house)......she was one of the most unhappy and miserable people you would ever meet!
she was a spiritual orphan with few friends and no real family to speak of.. she got the "good news" back in 1950, that "the world" was a bad place and god, would soon be killing most everyone......she was thrilled!...............

I don't know 1 college grad with a decent career who has converted in at least the last 10 years in my area.
I think the jig is up with the young people in my area. They can see through the deception and the lies and yet they stay in.
Many in the local area are going to college and getting good careers saying that they will pioneer and never do it. So hopefully this religion will finally fall apart with this newer generation of young people.

Funny that it seems more and more the friends at the Kingdom Hall are super depressed. I think this whole "system coming to an end soon" thing is really wearing on people.
I went on a call about a year ago to who I thought was a very happy and upbeat sister. All she could do was cry at how depressed she was and the sad thing is, she couldn't figure out why she was so sad all the time.
Had another call a few months ago to another sister who was a pioneer and had everything going for her. Same thing!! She was super depressed and couldn't put her finger on it.
Many others at the hall are the same way. This is really becoming the norm for many witnesses as their little promise of mass death by God doesn't come to fruition.

S.A.D. Observations from the assembly.
by Darkknight757 inso we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.
he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.

I was curious, how many were in attendance? Was this a rented facility or a WT owned one? And how in the world does a one day assembly rack up $24,000 in expenses? And why aren't the brothers in charge of these things being 'fired' for their incompetence? (Actually, the only ones who would be 'fired' would be the conscientious ones who complained about this.)
This was at your typical JW assembly hall. There were 2500 in attendance so per person it doesn't come out to that much but the trouble is is that the cost for these assemblies have doubled in 5 years. It used to be about $12000 a few years ago. I had the chance a few years ago to see the financial report and it didn't make sense as to why it was so much. -

Also, re the point that "Jehovah only hears the prayers of baptised ones" huh? What about the many experiences they print about "people who were just praying, and then witnesses knocked at their door"?
The brother illustrated this point. He used the example of two people who date for "MANY years" without making a "firm commitment". He relates that to how Yahman doesn't hear ALL the prayers of a person who will not make a "firm commitment" to Him and the Organization.
So those stories of people who pray for a sign are supposedly answered but don't expect to get a sign after years of study if you have commitment issues cause Yah will be too busy for you.

Galling Meeting Today! Truly Nauseating!
by Nicholaus Kopernicus infirst scripture used by the public speaker was jeremiah 31:34 - "and they will no more teach each one his companion and each one his brother, saying, know jehovah!
for they will all of them know me, from the least one of them even to the greatest one of them, is the utterance of jehovah.
for i shall forgive their error, and their sin i shall remember no more.immediately, i was distracted.

Then the WT study made it even worse. Paragraph 9 stated: "Humbly acknowledge your limitations and admit your mistakes".
Nice point! Never thought of that as we were going through that study in the magazine yesterday. How nice would it be to gather a few points learned here and on other sites and show the brothers how the society never truly admits error on their part. -

- 15 baptized out of 2500 attendance (0.6%) is actually higher than most we have heard about recently. It's been running about 0.4% to 0.5%.Our circuit is always around 20 every assembly. So for us it's actually a touch lower than normal ,considering we we had about 300 plus our normal attendance.

In connection with the baptism there were 15 of which half were young ones, perhaps 17-14 yr range. The others young adults. -

Interesting regarding costs. I assume this is a JW assembly hall. I don't know what the US costs are but $24,000 sounds like a crazy amount. What was the attendance?
Oh attendance was actually 2500 which was high for a one day. Lots of people having babies though but I'm sure that's not the only reason why it was so high. Usually in our circuit, attendance is high at 2200.

I'm still attending because I'm working on a fade but the reason why I wanted to go because I heard Bro. Losch was going to be there and I wanted to see what the big deal was. Guess there wasn't much of one.
