so the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.

finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.

so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.

What's frustrating about the paragraph in question is I showed it to my in-laws, asked them how Gods sole channel of communication to humans can be flawed and their response was,"their imperfect." I then asked them to show me one prophet of old that was wrong. They just gave me a blank stare.😂😂😂

Interesting considering we came out to the in-laws last night. This might reinforce their shun powers. How can a reasonable person feel it's ok to ignore a call from their flesh and blood? How sick.

well today was the big day.

previously there were unknown rumors being spread about me and today i found out why the wife and i are being shunned.

We told them we want them in our lives, but we will not discuss Watchtower. We told them that "if" they still want us in their lives it's their decision. We told them that we will understand and not be angry if they shun us.

Thanks Searcher. I honestly think that each one needs to come to that critical point where they question Watchtower before they can have an awakening. I hope for their sake they do.

We told them that this leaving Watchtower stands us to gain nothing. We are losing all our (conditional) friends and family. But truth is truth. Watchtower isn't "truth" and what we know now makes it impossible to go back.

Thanks for the comments everyone. It is quite liberating as now we no longer need to hide. Our non witless family has been extremely supportive. This day was a good 8 months or so coming.

I really hope they wake up but only time will tell with that. I was considering just sending an email with the imperial bible dictionary and asking him to fact check "Jehovah" and "cross" and see for himself but I'm not sure if that will just cause more harm?? Either way the relationship we had with them was already strained and my wife was prepared for something like this.

They asked us what translation of the Bible we are reading and we told them NIV. They also asked us to try and pray and we honestly told them we don't know how to pray, considering we have been praying to a 12th century bc Canaanite Storm God all these years. They were kinda stone faced on that one. 😬

Well today was the big day. We finally let the cat out of the bag to the in-laws about Watchtower. Previously there were unknown rumors being spread about me and today I found out why the wife and I are being shunned. Firstly, people saw on my Facebook account that I am growing a beard. That means that I'm turning "worldly" thus becoming bad association. Second, some people were somehow surprised to see the term "God hater" when referring to myself. We lost two kids and then our faith for crying out loud!!!! Something like that's gonna piss a person off!!

Either way we told the in-laws that we are no longer following Watchtower and gave a few reasons why: NWT13 Bible, Feb 15 2017 Watchtower quote, Bible not historically accurate or scientifically accurate, the name "Jehovah and it's use in the NT, resurrection promise, paradise earth unfounded in scripture, quote mining , child abuse and the "two Witness rule. The discussion went well. Of course we have been "blinded by Satan."

So toward the end my father-in-law said that we can keep in touch "as a family." Not sure if any of you might be able to explain that? He also said to email any questions that we have and he can give us answers. I told him thank you but no. He's far too old to destroy his faith like that and I told him that.

At least the conversation was civil. Nobody raised their voice but my mother-in-law was really upset. Either way at least that is finally over with. I told them that no judicial action has been taken and we are not disassociating. I let them know too that if any action is taken it will be with my lawyer present.

What I don't get is that he's a well respected elder and he honestly couldn't address one question raised. Just said that we are under Satans control and that he would pray for us. How sad.

So I sent the elduuurs a text:

"Good morning.

After further consideration I've decided I do not need a meeting with the elders.

-The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction."-

He replied back with a ? and asked what that means. I replied back that there is no reason to meet with the elders because the Governing Body admits that they are not under divine inspiration, which means that, by their own admission they (the elders) are also not of divine inspiration and therefore have no authority.

I told them to leave me alone and that any further rumor spreading or judicial action will be met with action by my lawyer.

He then told me that they just want to help us spiritually and the elders and the GB love me.

I told him to save for retirement and make sure his kid gets a good education so he doesn't end up a toilet scrubber.

I told him that I love him and that we all deserve to live a happy life.

I like that idea jwleaks. I already have that magazine on my iPhone. I'll just send that quote to the elduuuuuuuurs and tell him that I don't need a meeting with them after all. Then the wife and I can just move on.

Her parents want to get together now and want us to explain why we are inactive and this whole Facebook situation. That would be interesting.

The whole thing about this is I just want out and away from these weirdos so that the wife and I can move on with our lives. We really have nothing to lose at this point since our family has already begun shunning us since they found out we are inactive.

I see these stories of people 5, 10, 25 years out still being haunted by these goons and I don't want that for us. We just want to live a long and happy life away from the cult.

Our "worldly" family is fully supporting us and we already have some good new friendships that we are working on. So the loss of these conditional friends is more of a relief at this point in time.

Either way I'm going to call my local elduuuur from the fade hall and tell him to get ready for a call from my lawyer if he doesn't figure out how to leave us alone and forget he ever met us.
