These smaller conventions have had a dramatic effect on meeting attendance and help from local brothers before leaving the org a year and some change ago. I could easily pick out a few families that were faithful to the ASSemblies suddenly would be lax on Friday and leave after lunch Sunday. These smaller groups combined with mixing circuits was a big mistake by the ever stupid governing body.

Dutch conventions organized like circuits
by Gorbatchov inhere in holland jw.org is organizing for the first time the yearly conventions like circuits.
the whole summer the new convention hall is used for small group conventions instead of 10.000 seat external halls.. it keeps the money in the organization.
not renting external buildings.. the 29.000 witnesses here are divided now into 2.000 seat audience.. g..

More boring baby stuff and wife's first birthday
by Darkknight757 inhello just giving a quick baby update again.
we went for another growth scan yesterday which marks 26 weeks, 4 days and the genetics dr. felt that we needed to head to hospital for labor and delivery.
so as of now the wife is being monitored and the hope is she can stay until delivery which hopefully will be a few weeks.

She is getting steroid injections for development. Now we are in a semi private room and only monitoring baby once every 8 hours. Dopplers will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Basically they are keeping an eye on blood flow. At the moment there is negative blood flow to the baby and that will probably not improve. Once they deem the baby is at risk they will perform a C-section. Baby is laying transverse and slightly breech at the moment. Hopefully we will be able to get a few more days out of this pregnancy.

Convention invitations
by dothemath inso everyone is supposed to get all excited about the invitation work starting tomorrow, according to the announcement from the platform.. maybe this makes sense if you're giving out invitations in the city where the convention is, but what if you're many hours away?.
a huge part of western canada is scheduled to attend edmonton alberta this july.
so how does that go over giving out invitations in winnipeg, about a 13 hour drive(that's just driving time).. i know some are actually planning on flying there, so i can't see getting excited about getting the public to make the trek.. i was curious how this is going over in other areas?.

13 hours! 5 hours! I can't imagine going door to door handing out invites for a convention that far away. Even when ours was only an hour away I questioned why anyone would drive that far for a religious convention especially that if weird Jehovah's Witnesses.
I work with a guy who regularly visited him and he told the brother the same thing. In his case it would be a nearly two hour drive to get there. He told the brother, "I've got more important shit to do." They never invited him again.

Hello just giving a quick baby update AGAIN. 😁
We went for another growth scan yesterday which marks 26 weeks, 4 days and the Genetics Dr. felt that we needed to head to hospital for labor and delivery. So as of now the wife is being monitored and the hope is she can stay until delivery which hopefully will be a few weeks. Either way Detroit Henry Ford Main has one of the best neonatal facilities around so we are in good hands.
Honestly if we didn't have that growth scan appt we would have probably lost the baby considering how low the amniotic fluid was and the poor blood flow due to a non performing placenta. So we are very lucky.
All this come one day after my wife's first birthday in the almost 40 years she's been alive. She was born into the Jehovah's witnesses so she never had a birthday before.
We kept it simple. I made her a homemade complete from scratch marble cake with buttercream frosting and took her to a nice dinner. Low key because we are still under the radar but good nonetheless. (Sadly now I have an almost complete cake sitting at home and we are at hospital.) Glad to be here instead of what could been the alternative.
We do need to be cautious with regards to the blood issue and if her parents show up. With a one pound baby there is a very high chance she will need blood and we can't have our JW family find out so we told the doctors that nobody except for myself has medical information privileges. Her parents still speak to us but might shun if they find out she or the baby needs life saving blood.
So it looks like we are in it for the long haul now. I hope everyone is well and thank you Simon for letting me vent here and thank you to everyone for your continued support and positive energy.

The "faithful slave" urges confession in latest Watchtower!
by The Searcher inwatchtower october 2017, page 11, par.
17 - confess and abandon secret sins.
some christians who have committed a serious sin try to cover it over in order to avoid embarrassing themselves or disappointing others.

This "secret sin" bs is their scapegoat for when things go wrong at a congregation. They just claim that there must be a secret sin and that's why things suck so bad.

A woman wearing a head covering in subjugation of men - absolutely mental

I can't remember the passage but wasn't it the woman's hair on their head supposed to be the head covering? The whole scarf thing is ridiculous.

Baby update and quick hello.
by Darkknight757 ini wanted to take a moment to give a quick baby update.
my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

Thanks.
OLd Navy: You're correct there. We don't forget the ones we lost. However this one is making that pain lessen. It was rough at first but at that point we didn't think either was going to make it and all the crap my wife is going through was in vain but now things are really looking up!!

What is behind your choice of forum user name?
by stuckinarut2 injust curious how we all think.. what prompted or influenced your choice of username for this forum?.
there are some really amazing names, and it would be great to hear the stories behind them.... mine was nothing fancy.
i just felt "stuck in a rut too" along with so many others.
