to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.
david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

It's one of the most bizarre teachings Watchtower has ever come up with. It's not backed by scripture and it makes wild assumptions that make even the most dedicated Jehovah's Witness confused.
I remeber a long time elder say at a Watchtower study how utterly confusing the teaching was. He said it made no sense. Then he said,"....but we wait on Jehovah to reveal this in time."

1. If blood transfusions are not allowed then why is it ok for a mother to breastfeed her baby? Doesn't God know that there are white blood cells in breastmilk? Could the creator of all things overlooked that?
2. Explain Genesis chapter 1 how God made green vegetation to grow one whole creative day before the sun and moon were made?

a marking talk was given at the mid-week meeting in which no names were mentioned yet a detailed description of the "offending bastards" was delivered so that there as no doubt who this "pond scum" might be.
LongHairGal: You make a good point and perhaps it was something she discovered while cleaning that made her second guess the decision. Honestly we just felt really sorry for her and her family. They are strapped financially and while we are not swimming in money, we are doing well enough to help out an old friend. Besides, she has proven to be trustworthy over the years. My wife could leave her to go to Yoga and nothing ever went missing.
Its unfortunate that these "busybody" elders don't heed their own council not to be meddlers in other people's affairs. For good people like TPTT and the others that get slandered like this is absolutely absurd. Don't the elduuurs have enough to deal with?
By the way thanks for asking about "Little One" LongHairGal. She has been home a little over a week and is doing very well. She at last weight was 4 pounds 2 oz and 16 and 1/3 inches long. We measured her this morning and she is a little over 17 inches but we haven't weighed her yet. She's amazing!

We had this happen again to us recently. We left over a year ago and recently our cleaning lady who is a witness suddenly decided after "talking to the elders and doing research in the Bible" that she can no longer clean for us. She only comes once a month and they are really struggling financially. We always way over pay for her service and yet for whatever reason the elders are AGAIN talking about us behind our backs. We've just got our baby home from a 78 day stay in NICU. We haven't had time to get into trouble lol.

i know you'll be involuntarily disassociated if you unrepentantly accepted a blood transfusion; and i know you'll be disfellowshipped for apostasy if you openly disagreed with watchtower teaching.
what if you have done none of the above but simply respectfully refused to fill out the dpa without giving any reason for your refusal - so they can't accuse you of openly disagreeing with the no-blood doctrine and df you for apostasy.
they don't know why you're refusing and you're not giving them the reason - and you're being very respectful.. what can they do?.
I wonder if "privileges" like MS or Elder would be withheld because of NOT filling out the DOA card? My wife and I were one of only a few families who were faithful with that and I was quickly given privileges shortly after filling it out. Not saying it was a deciding factor, but just that it was another sign of obedience to the Borg.
