StarTrekAngel: Is this the first CO visit since September for you, or the second?
EDIT: _Morpheus was thinking what I was thinking.
during the many years of being a jw, i could never really bring myself to be exited about the co's visit.
this has been an issue that always kept me wondering back to religions.
why could not feel the same happiness that made everyone around me cry during the sunday service?

EDIT: _Morpheus was thinking what I was thinking.
it was recently that i found out that my dad was a paedophile while reading a post on this site (shocker to say the least), but out of something so awful a good thing has occurred.
some on here will know my backstory about how my loving jw parents disowned, but i digress.
thanks to that post i am now in contact with my sister who unbeknown to me is a member of this site and saw my response on the thread about my dad.
under the radar: I remember the thread well.
I was so shocked, I didn't even know what to say.
moley: I'm glad you are reconnecting with your sister! I can only hope that someday my own sister wakes up.

for those of you familiar with ayn rand and her ideas on morality, rationality and reason, what is your opinion of those ideas?.
i'm talking about her actual ideas, not the ideals that libertarianism has adopted and, in some cases, perverted.
do you think she's a charlatan?
Where's Mr. Belding when you need him? :P
ok guys, this is long, so i am sorry, but i think it is important to publish.
this is a glimpse into a 4 page letter (love that song) from my uber elder uncle.
as some of you may know i got tired of being in an email chain and finally lost it and lashed out.

The other, of course, involves orcs.
Fencing: I'm pretty sure the term she used was "Looters."
can i upload a audio tape of how evil jws are, you won't believe how wicked they are!
.
i really think that he is.
not that it's a bad thing...
I think he's sympathetic to Muslims, more sympathetic than many Judeo-Christians may like. But no, I don't think he's a Muslim.
I honestly think he's a closet atheist, not that there's anything wrong with that.
to start off with let me clarify that by asshole atheism i am not referring to strong atheism or any other type of upfront atheism.
what i am referring to is the belligerent, hateful atheism that smacks of trolls and other types who want to derail conversation or comments at any cost..
i enjoy hearing comments from both sides of the subjects of theism, nationalism or politics, especially from those who have intense opinions.
A-hole Atheism. Like this woman?

FayeDunaway: Atlas Shrugged is a really hard (and long) read. Over 1,000 pages, if I recall correctly. But, it helped me to think critically, so I still recommend it to certain people occasionally.
Right now, though, I'm reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. Can't very well go around recommending that to my JW friends.
