IKEA Bekant motorised standing desk
by Simon inif you're anything like me and have a desk job you will sit for long periods of the day and it's very unhealthy according to lots of studies.. one thing you can do to change that is to stand - you burn more calories as well as reducing health risks.
yes, it hurts (like hell) at first and you really need a chef's mat to stand on and ideally some hard foam 'things' you can put one foot on to allow you to change your position.
you can also get 'standing stools' like the mogo to give a bit of a half-way house:.

I know there have been undercover recordings of JC meetings, but has anyone ever openly insisted on recording the proceedings?Show up to every JC meeting scheduled, but openly pull a tape recorder out. And when told to turn it off, refuse to do so.
Would they proceed while being recorded? Or would they reschedule, reschedule, reschedule or DF you in absentia. Can they DF you in absentia if you're willing to meet, although you bring a tape recorder every time you meet?

They're now counting them as "tracts" placed, so people can feel like they're accomplishing something.
There's a place to mark "tracts" on the time slip? Shows how long it's been since I turned in an actual slip instead of texting some BS hours.

As I looked at this link and the article it showed the picture of Kelly Richards at the top of the article, but it shows the picture of another woman in two pictures in the middle of the page being escorted by a man into a car. Is THIS the same woman as the top of the page ? If it is my eyes are doing tricks on me ! The woman at the top looks nothing like the woman with the man in the middle of the article .
I was thinking the same thing.
Only thing I can think of is that perhaps the picture at the top was taken at the time of the assault (2011-2012) and that since she got busted, she's stuffed her face with fish & chips or haggis or black pudding or whatever those people eat over there.

Trademark?
by OrphanCrow ina while back, there was some controversy over whether or not jw .org qualified for registered trademark status.. yesterday, i was given one of the 2015 memorial invitations and there is a small tm next to the jw logo.. did the wts get the logo approved for trademark?.
or, am i looking at an invitation to the janitor world's jesus celebrations?.

So...the TM is just an attempt to appear legitimate and carries no weight at all except for appearance.
A TM can be defended in a court of law for trademark violation litigation, but only if the trademark holder can prove somehow that they have been using it historically earlier than the other party.
In the society's case, publications with a certain copyright date would suffice as evidence of historical use of a trademark.
Obtaining a ® means that any litigation defending the trademark would be much swifter. Evidence needing to be provided would only be the registration documents and nothing more.
Also, remember that a TM is still copyrighted by the original creator of the artwork. So, in this case, the JW dot ORG logo is being used as an unregistered trademark by the society, and it's also subject to copyright laws for reproduction of the logo.

TM is an unregistered trademark.
From what I understand, what they lost was their right to claim a "registered" trademark.
TM is not the same as ®.
You can legally slap a TM on anything you use for branding. The ® has more weight in a court of law.
From Wikipedia:
A trademark may be designated by the following symbols:
- ™ (the "trademark symbol", which is the letters "TM", for an unregistered trademark, a mark used to promote or brand goods)
- ℠ (which is the letters "SM" in superscript, for an unregistered service mark, a mark used to promote or brand services)
- ® (the letter "R" surrounded by a circle, for a registered trademark)

Dating After Leaving?
by Garrett inhey guys,.
this is going to be a topic of a different nature.
so, while i am not looking to date at the current moment since i'm still trying to figure out who i am and what i want life, i do want to start dating in the near future.. my issue is that i've been in for almost all my life and it's left a big hole when it comes to my romantic life.. i was wondering, after leaving, did any of you date?

Online dating is great, but make sure you date someone relatively local. Long distance dating is rough, frustrating and not easy to make work, in my experience.
