I am sorry man. I can only imagine how disappointing this must be for you.
That's my biggest fear in this whole mess...that my wife will decide it's not worth going down the rabbit hole any farther and climb back out.

i know many on here have lost faith in the bible , is it possible that is because ones do not have the right perspective regarding it .
we have usually been taught by bad teachers , or ignorant .
i believe if we take an honest look at the bible , we will see that it gives us the best answers to crucial matters , it gives us some amount of bearings ( understanding ) , which without having such knowledge we would all be more like walking zombies in amanner of speaking , we would be lacking hope in something better , for surely something better is to come , how can we be sure , .
William.
I cannot believe a book that starts off so poorly. Adam & Eve 6,000 years ago were the first humans? Science has proven this to be false. A great flood happening 4,000 years or so? No geological evidence whatsoever.
Not to mention the fact that we have no evidence (other than conjecture, anecdotal and circumstantial) that certain prophecies that supposedly came true were actually written when they were supposedly written.
If you don't mind, I'd like to base my life's morality on being good for the sake of being good and the happiness of my fellow human beings, not out of fear of some deity that may or may not exist. I think being a good person because it's the right thing to do is more honorable and righteous than being a good person because you might displease a God.
a couple of weeks ago someone posted that jw.org accidentally posted the 2015 regional convention release.
i can not fine the thread now.. i saw a picture of it yesterday.
a sister had downloaded the pdf and read it that night.. it is a 16-page brochure entitled "return to jehovah", with a purple background.. it has been designed specifically for inactive ones are those who have been raised around the truth but never baptized.
Ugh, goody goody. I guess this gives me a reason to finally put away the Christmas decorations....
Faye: I can't remember, are you faded or did you DA?
watchtower july 15 2015 p.11 pars.
"your share in contributing to the spiritual paradise".
18 it is an honor to be allowed by jehovah to contribute to the beauty of our spiritual paradise.we do that by zealously preaching the kingdom good news and making more disciples.
Sadly, the WTBTS and all organized religions are NOT running out of white-wash. Add to that, "a sucker born every minute."
What they've done is convince people that there is a spiritual (read "invisible") bucket, spiritual brush and spiritual whitewash and they should be privileged to take part in the wonderful work. When you've done that, there's a never ending supply of suckers.

i'm not an expert but that is my understanding of this: .
opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.
the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.
What's the over/under on WT still appealing the negligence ruling? I bet they do.
-------
EDIT: Barbara, good point. Is it possible, though, that they could put out a JW dot ORG official press release about the 'victory' and not even mention the negligence ruling?

EdenOne: That sentence means that the judgement on punitive damages was in Watchtower's favor. "...judgment for Watchtower."
------
Barbara is right. It is still a positive outcome.
However, I wanted to see Watchtower have to pay. I was hoping they wouldn't have any room to spin this as a 'victory.'

Here was what Watchtower argued in their Reply Brief for the appeal:
Finally, with respect to punitive damages, Watchtower illustrates how (I) there was insufficient evidence as a matter of law to show malice to support the award of punitive damages against Watchtower; and how (J) punitive damages were misused in an attempt to force Watchtower to change its nationwide policy as perceived by Plaintiff.
The court's judgement was "for Watchtower" on this point. Again I'm not a lawyer, but it sounds to me as if Watchtower will not be required to pay any punitive damages.
As to the details and verbiage of the Court's written opinion, that remains to be seen as the document isn't available online yet. The court could conceivably only agreed with point J of the brief, thus possibly leaving the door open to a different amount in punitive damages. But, if they agreed with both lines of arguments from the brief, then I would bet on them not being required to pay any punitive damages.

So, WT won!!It appears so.

Here's my interpretation:
IANAL, but I worked for one for 5 years.
The judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.
Defendants are still "guilty." They will be paying the 130,000 for therapy and treatment, or whatever it was to begin with.
The judgment against Watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed...
This whole sentence sounds weird and is poorly written, but here's what it sounds like to me, and I don't think it's good news. It is my opinion that this means that Watchtower actually won in reversing the punitive damages.
...with directions to enter judgment for Watchtower on punitive damages.
The decision of the court was to find in favor of the Watchtower on punitive damages. If Watchtower was to be required to pay punitive damages, it would have been a judgement for the plaintiff, not Watchtower. The sentence reads "...enter judgement for Watchtower." Watchtower was trying to have the punitive damages reversed on appeal, and the judgment was in their favor. (The punitive damages were the ones that rose to the millions of dollars amount, FYI)
The parties are to bear their own costs on appeal.
This last sentence is self explanatory.
Again, I am not a lawyer, but this is how I am interpreting it based off my experience.
