Specific Comments By R&F About May Broadcast
by freemindfade ini know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!
but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.
i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

When I expressed some "concern and confusion" to my father about the telethon, he watched it, then came back and said, "I can see how you might feel that way. But it's not like they're doing this in every broadcast. If that starts to happen, I think then there would be reason to be concerned." -

Ties at the Kingdom Hall
by CloseTheDoor incouple of weeks ago an elder took a young man aside and crawled all over him after the tms for wearing a "skinny" tie.
it was one of those 2 inch wide ties.
nothing bright or scandalous about.

I notice that elders usually only bully like this when it's someone that is easily buffaloed.

All Seeing Eye on WBTS Video!
by Alan Forbes ini was on the jw.org website today and decided to watch a video entitled 'respect jehovah's authority'.
to my surprise approximately 3mins 25secs into the video, as the opening title began to fade, a symbol of the all seeing eye (eye of horus) appeared on the screen.
the scene was not set in egypt, but in a hebrew tent in the wilderness where praise was being sung to jehovah!!

Yeah, you're wrong. It's a flourish, not an eye. You can see it better in this enhanced image.
It's the same pattern used earlier in the video when introducing the characters.
But you may be on to something regarding this video. At 15:32 minutes into the video I saw something very strange. Here is the original photo. If you look closely, you can see it in the bottom left corner.
Don't see it? It becomes easier to spot once you enhance the video.

Golden Rule: Pure Garbage?
by willmarite inon another thread a poster made the comment that the golden rule was garbage.
she said it was arrogant and made assumptions.. i didn't want to derail that thread so i started another wondering if this is a common thought about this belief on this forum.
i guess i naively thought the value of doing to others as you want them to do to you was generally accepted as positive.. i understand people have different opinions of jesus as a person but i don't want to get into that here.

My Last thoughts in Field Service Before the Elderly Man Shat Himself and Pissed his pants in My New Car!
by PokerPlayerPhil indebating this was going to be the last day in field service was not hard after dealing with a nasty mess because i was grouped with the misfits of the kingdom hall!
i was reading this website on my phone while something started to stink in my car and one of the weird kids nobody wanted to work with yelled "hey, you leaking all over my seat, he was freaked out too!
" the older, retired elder, his pioneer daughter had forgotten to put his depends on and that became my problem.

I gotta say, I like working "rural" territory (farm areas). If the company's decent, you've got more time to chit-chat, laugh, joke, drink coffee, and if you really get lucky and get the right partner, listen to some non-kingdom tunes on the ride. Not to mention how easy it is to count your time doing that kind of territory.
My former pioneer partner and I used to work together every day. He was a little off because he had to take all these meds for some chronic illness. He couldn't drive because of the meds, and we were also the only two brothers that were pioneering. So, we always worked together. We became fast friends and I felt bad that others didn't look past his quirkiness. Listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn cranked up to full blast on the back country dirt roads of Texas...man, those were some of the good times.

A prospective juror(JW) really ticks of Judge!
by truthseekeriam inan appellate court has reversed the conviction of a bacliff woman who recorded her boyfriend raping his 14-month-old granddaughter on her cell phone, saying the trial judge tainted the jury by arresting a prospective juror during jury selection.
alisha marie drake had been sentenced in 2013 to 15 years in prison for using her cell phone to record the act.
her boyfriend, jason grant, was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography and is awaiting trial.

A temporary increase in donations can offset the expenses of court settlements/judgements. That way it doesn't make a dent in their day-to-day operations. -

Jehovah's Witnesses mentioned on BBC News site regarding not voting
by defender of truth injehovah's witnesses.
there are about 140,000 jehovah's witnesses in the uk who will choose not to vote on 7 may.. mark o'malley, a spokesman for the christian-based religious movement, said: "as you go through the bible we see that god's kingdom is already established in heaven with god as the king of that kingdom.. "we are politically neutral as, in a sense, we have already chosen to support that kingdom's government.
we see it as a real government.. "there are limitations to what governments can do, maybe they can improve the health system, but they can't prevent death, maybe they can help children, but they can't provide a secure future for them necessarily.

This guy doesn't even know his own doctrine. I thought JESUS was enthroned as king in 1914? Unless the consider Jesus as God now?

Why People "Fly from Facts"
by cappytan ingood article on the minds of our still in loved ones.
these experiments show that when peoples beliefs are threatened, they often take flight to a land where facts do not matter.
in scientific terms, their beliefs become less falsifiable because they can no longer be tested scientifically for verification or refutation.. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-people-fly-from-facts/
