For British exjws: how has your view of the Royal Family etc changed

has your perspective of the royal family, her majesty the queen, the national anthem, and maybe politics in general, changed since you left the borg?.
even if you're not british, would you say you are more patriotic now?.

I think it's a collosal waste of funds. Twenty Million? and not even a thank-you to the British taxpayer for picking up the tab. Americans have gone batty over the Royal stuff here. I just can't believe how it's dominated the news...it's not like we have two wars going or anything....

The birthers can say it's not about race all they want...and maybe it was just a political bomb thrown my the Hillary campaign who desperately wanted to win the WhiteHouse. It IS racism that has perpetuated this mess. Obama originally supplied the official state document that was asked. Then he was alegedly not forthcoming because it wasn't good enough for the birthers. It stayed on the fringe and dismissable (even w/ some of the Faux news folks perpetuating it) until Trump decided to run for the presidency and started this self-agrandizing crap up again. I guess he probably decided that he wasn't going to have this stupidity hanging over his re-election bid.

by flipper insorry for the redundancy of this being the 3rd article out of this magazine i've made a thread on- but i felt it was important to share these quotes from the aricle titled " make your way successful - how ?
" i think you'll see the extreme dissing of higher education here and guilt tactics used to discourage jw members from getting a college education or earning a decent living.. under the subheading " higher education " ?
it states, " a christian has a scriptural obligation to care for his family, and that includes providing for their material needs.

The first part of the post shows the willfull ignorance of the WTS. As was mentioned, one of the primary reasons to go to college is because it teaches you how to think critically and how to be a problem solver (why else require so much math for a liberal arts degree?) College is also an avenue for lifelong learners. Why should the benefit of getting a decent paying job be the SOLE motivation? Sure, it's part of the payoff, but many of us end up having our curiosity stimulated and are more motivated to actually learn for the sake of learning. That's the best thing about college for me - a 40 year old ex-dub who is in my junior year of my undergrad. Sure, I'll be able to get a job when I'm done, but I don't plan on calling my undergrad good enough. I like this stuff. I will at least get my graduate degree...maybe even go on to a PhD.
