Hey, thank you.
Stackinarut2, you might be surprised what other sins I have in my backpack :D
Adjusted knowledge, I'm from Eastern Europe. Where are you from? (don't need to say exactly if you don't feel comfortable with it either)
hi, my apostate friends.. a couple of weeks ago i asked for some advice regarding studying methods.
then some of you asked me to let you know my score after i take the exam at mineralogy.. i scored 90%.
i'm pretty happy with it because the exams i take are not in my native language.. if i keep up with the good scores i might get a scholarship and then bye bye watchtower society.

Ultimately everything I do now comes down to my final goal: to get a usefull degree and move to an English speaking country so that I can get rid of my jw past as much as it's possible = to live a normal life. So far everything goes according to my plans. I'm also getting some web projects to complete (I'm a freelancer webdesigner and developer). I feel I'm getting more and more independent. Life is good right now.
Thank you everybody for your support. This is a priceless community.
i'm having an exam in mineralogy in 20 days and need to learn 120+ pages of content.
i've learned a part of it so far.
i'm just curious how did you/do you study?
Hi guys. Thanks for the tips. I really appreciate them. Snare&racket, thank you for sharing that story with us, it's inspiring. I'm in a bit of a rush right now, I'll come back a few days from now.
Thanks again for everybody who contributed to this topic.

Hey, thanks for the replies. I'll use those methods, let's see how they work out for me. Snare&racket, I know that the main reason I'm procrastinating many times is because of the fear of failure. Thanks for the tips and for the encouragement. I know such students who are telling everyone how they didn't study anything and still scored high. It can be really annoying and demotivating sometimes.

I find maths, physics and chemistry easier to learn than other subjects. Mineralogy, even though it's based on core theories (i.e. plate tectonics) and rules I find harder to learn. Most of it is classification and memorizing names, chemical formulas and so on, nothing I could deduce by myself.
How did you succeed learning such subjects? snare&racket how did you manage memorizing all those diseases and symptoms, descriptions etc ?
Thanks in advance for the tips.
greetings to all who surf shark-infested internet waters.. after i was hit by ransomware the other day, i did research on so-called safe sites.
it seems more and more sites are being infected deliberately by hackers.
i went to a legit-looking site on a famous artist and -- wham!
Using adblock plus for google chrome and poper blocker might help too.
so when the kids get out of school we plan on going away for 3 to 4 weeks for vacation but we want to go somewhere that is actually enjoyable and not just packed full of things for the kids to do.
cruises are out, to confining.
i live in the u.s. so i want to abroad an continue to get the kids passports stamped so they can be exposed to as many cultures as possible.. .
Have you considered Romania? Not as exotic as New Zealand, but there are some nice places to visit and quite a bit amount of culture too,a few medieval styled cities and mountains as well as the Danube Delta. While here you could also visit Budapest, Hungary (also an awesome place). These two countries are adjacent to eachother.
hello there i am new to the faith and have been studying for about a month.
i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.
we do about 2 bible studies a week.
@outlaw: you're really into Anthony, aren't you?
what is the(or what was your) main motivation for serving god as a jw(or any christian)?.
a) love for god and genuinely trying to learn more about him and bible truths?.
b) to escape punishment/death at armegddon?.
@ outlaw: Yeah, i saw that before I posted. My intention was to emphasize the fact that I made no difference between death at armageddon or regular death.

For me it was B, but I'd like to rephrase it as "to gain everlasting life". It wasn't the fear of death at armageddon that motivated me, but what was promised that will be waiting for me after.
It's a bunch of lies anyway, what does it matter now?
