by silentlambs inthere will be a press conference on the courthouse steps at 10:00 a.m. on may 24, 2002 this press conference will address questions raised by jehovahs witnesses concerning the conduct of leadership in ignoring the cry of child molestation victims within their organization and their attempt to excommunicate those who support them.. at 5:30 p. m. there will be a candlelight vigil held at wilson cemetery, foust-sledd road and highway 68, for the purpose of offering support to all silent lambs.
a silent lamb is described as an individual who has experienced child molestation and those who support them that suffer due to actions of people who claim to represent god.
the public is invited to attend and participate if they wish.

So I guess it's finally my turn <grin>
by noidea inwell i had a visit today from an elder (related through marriage) about my non-meeting attendance.
he let me know that the circuit overseer is due in for a visit in 2 weeks and the elders in my congregation felt that it would be good for them to pay me a visit.
i have already declined other such offers.. he asked me why i was not attending the meetings (didn't reply to that) and that if i had a problem that i could talk about it.

by noidea inwell i had a visit today from an elder (related through marriage) about my non-meeting attendance.
he let me know that the circuit overseer is due in for a visit in 2 weeks and the elders in my congregation felt that it would be good for them to pay me a visit.

What a great bunch of people {{{ }}}....
I have decided to take Older Tom's advice and sent word to that effect. I'm sure they will as LyinEyes said .."just show up"..seems all is quiet in the congregation for the time being so I guess they have to have someone to focus on.
My husband does think it's a great idea to meet ..I think he hopes they can do something about me because he no longer has any control on me. (I have shattered his illusions and he is feeling quit lost at the moment...poor guy *lol)
I plan to fix a pot of coffee and then run to do errands if that doesn't work out there is always a toilet to clean <grin>.
He can talk to them if he wants.. just as I have the right not to. If confronted with anything I will pull out a tape recorder and say nothing as I drink my coffee..*from another pot I might add
In all seriousness I do feel that the org. will try and crack down on anyone that tries to fade. I think they realize that if they don't nip the trend they will keep loosing members and $$$. Fading gives them no control and no bargaining tool and they are not going to stand for that.
As far as I'm concerned come what may I do not fear them or shunning..I have way to much respect then to chase love from family and friends that are willing to shun that don't realize what love is in the first place. I guess you reach a point where you release the grasp that they have on you and I feel sorry for those that have to face that when they are not ready to.
This really is a wonderful support group here and the concern is overwhelming. I know that there are and will be many more post like this and sometimes we may not reply because advice has been already given or there is so much of the same thing..but the personal support is nice and it's wonderful knowing that you have friends that care about you on an individual basis ...so thanks to all that reply not just to my post but that make the effort to be there and encourage others.{{{Hugs}}}

Anyway, he brought up my dedication and what I was suppose to be doing and the whole bit and said that they wanted to meet with me. I told him that I had nothing to say and he could forward that message. He said that he would do that but they would probably come anyway and that I could tell them when they arrived.
My husband has agreed to meet with them and receive his "encouragement" He asked what I wanted him to tell them about me..I said nothing I can speak for myself or not speak for myself if that is what I chose to do.
So folks here we go...looks like it's my turn.

Will silentlambs Be DF???
by silentlambs inwell now we have it, what appears to be the pre-emptive strike from wt.. as of this friday three families who appeared on the dateline program have been informed judicial committees have been setup with a one week notice and it is alleged that they have been causing "divisions" within the organization.
i got my letter today, barbara anderson got hers yesterday and the other family earlier this week.. if you were a pr firm would you think it to be a good idea or a bad idea to df everyone a couple of weeks before the dateline program airs?
what do you think the american public will think of such a move?.

by Dawn ini have heard that argument from the jw's since i was a child - i still hear it from my family.. now that i am out it seems like such a silly argument.
in fact, you could liken it to someone in an abusive marriage for years.
they're used to the situation and somewhat frightened at the thought of change.
