  Not in my neighborhood, PLEASE

  plans are to soon have shipments of nuclear waste to cross through many of our nation's cities to reach their dumpsite destinations.

  i really don't care for the idea.

  how do you feel about it?

  My girlfr and I went to the Assembly Hall today

  5 years removed from being inside the indianapolis assembly hall of jehovah's witnesses, 4 years from attending a meeting at the kingdom hall, this morning my girlfriend and i walked into the assembly hall.

  we were taking an early morning walk in our jogging clothes in downtown indy.

  she asked if there was anywhere i'd like to go.

  Hey coult9056, I have been out for almost 4 years now.. and i used to go to that assembly hall for over 15 years.. it is a very pretty place.. i used to sit and imagine it as my house when i was little.. wondering where i would put my bed.. i always thought above the stage.. lol.. Do you remember when we all got to help repaint it and stuff like that.. i got to paint at the very top.. outside.. around the window trim..i was about 13.. i felt so proud to say look i painted that.. lol.. that was when those ugly orange curtains where still in there. thanks for the flashback:)

  Watchtower Farms - How Run?

  could someone please explain to me the principles upon which the wt farms are run?.

  does the farm also rely upon subsidies and funding grants of any kind?

  from the brothers running the farms, is there any interest in farm diversification and environmental modelling upon the site, how is this evaluated and how are their plans forwarded into action?.

  I cant be much help... but i have been their twice.. ya know the bethal tours.. From what i can tell it is mostly a place were some Jw's work and live and all it is are big gardens and animals.. thats were other bethal places gets their Milk.. eggs.. vegi's fruits, and meats.. while we were thier we didnt see a whole lot.. we got to pet a pig.. thats about it.. the rest looks like dorm rooms and a big cafetirea.. Looks like they have it so they never half to leave or rely on other people.. very cultish..
  I know this wasnt what you were looking for .. i just thought i would share what i seen..

  i know alot of jws with money, and it seems to me that if your a jw with lots of money you can get away with alot more.

  is this cuz thay put more money in the box in the back of the kh?.

  how much money would you put in the the box at the hall?

  I noticed at our hall anyway, that it was always the rich wives that put the money in the donation box. and Always by check, i think it was so they would no how much brother and sister so and so gave them. if it was cash they wouldnt.

  Elders

  have you ever noticed (at least around here anyway) that the elders are all well to do?

  they all have nice houses and nice cars.. and nice clothes.. but yet their wives dont work they are all fulltime pioneers.. and the elders jobs arent the best in the world.. how can this be?

  i have never seen a elder with a little house.

  Hmm thanks for the input. i guess things are diffent from town to town.. eladers all seem well off around here in this very small hick town.. but maybe it is just here.

  Have you ever noticed (at least around here anyway) that the Elders are all Well to do? I have never seen a Elder with a little house. a not so good car.. and only 2 or 3 suits.. Just on my mind wondering how they have the money to do this and also take alot of vacations.. anybody have a answer?

  Just got a visit from elders

  well, it's sunday morning and i'm sitting here posting on this board when i hear 2 car doors slam.

  i peek out the window and see 2 elders walking up to the door.

  since i'm still in my jammies, i told my husband to go get the door while i snuck into the bedroom.

  Latte I am right there with you.. i have only got 2 visits in the 3 years i have been out.. and on one of them visits 2 elders told me i was killing my 2 babies since i dont go to meetings.. and told i would have to think about that every day.. shhessshh.. What loving chrsitian brothers.. But i never get Mags or anything.. they did tell me on that visit i could have a subscription whenever i came to the Hall and donated for it..

  i would like to see what kinda stuff is in them these days.. just for fun:) an elder came by a few months ago and i asked if i could have a subscription and he said yes he would fill one out when i came to the hall to make a donation.. uugghh no way i am going there.. can anyone help me?

  Thank you all for your suggestions.. i may try wriiting the society and see if i can get them that way.. and send my money of course!!lol..
  i wish i could just have some one get them for me. but i am lucky i have no family in the borg, they left when i did.. i will try and see what happens.. and let you all know..

  i am an inactive witness.

  the problem i'm having is that i have a 1 year old daughter.

  not that she's the problem, but jw's believe that only jw's will survive armageddon.

  OH i know how you feel!!!! i have been inactive for 3 years now.. i had elders come tell me about 4 months ago that since i wasnt going to meetings.. my 3 year old boy and my 8 month old girl were going to die because of me!!! talk about a guilt trip.. it bothered me for days but i relized that they are just trying to scare me to come back.. those feelings will go away.. if you would like to talk fell free to email me anytime..
