JT,
Good point. In this case I think "mature" is a synonym for "rotten."

i sent out notices to many individuals stating that they should watch dateline and do some further investigation after watching it.
here's one of the responses i received:.
after watching the dateline show, there really is no need for any "investigation".

hey gang-.
i got another email from watchtower pr.
it has their general counsel stating the following in regard to child abuse cases:.
Bill,
: If two eye witnesses are not able to establish the matter in the face of a denial, then in over 100% of cases the matter will be
kept confidential with parents being charged to not warn others in the congregation, that is an action also.
Not sure what % you meant to use....

last night i printed out an announcement about the nbc dateline show, and a silentlambs tri-fold flyer off the website.. armed with these flyers, my motorcyle .
i went on my "mission" this morning, to hit as many windshields in the local lincoln, rhode island, and pawtucket, rhode island parking lot as possible.. i managed to hit about 20, before i noticed one of the elders driving up, i was on the street at this point, and i recognized him, and he kept taking double takes at me.
(it was norman barone, for those of you locals who might know him.
Flip,
Good idea - I've been busily emailing such people and the press as well. Also, I've been including links to the jw-media VNRs at http://www.jw-media.org/releases/default.htm?content=/vnr/default.htm. The one called "Progressive Understanding" is really dumb. So I've included a few WT quotes and some commentary as well as an excerpt abot how "we didn;t know it was harmful 20 years ago." It's more like Progressive Disinformation.

It seems to me that it all depends on why a person is an atheist or agnostic. If it's by default then, being ill thought out in thefirst place, it is no surprise that a person might take a chance on God when disaster strikes.
However, if one arrives at one's opinion by actually thinking about the issue, there's no reason to do that. Carl Sagan is a good example of someone who, to his death, maintained his rationally arrived at beliefs.

now is the time to get the word out...beliefnet is a major multi-faith forum that is read by millions.
http://www.beliefnet.org/.
they have been following the crisis in the catholic church and i would love to see the jws get some nationwide attention as well!.
Having been fascinated by the series of articles in the UK Guardian newspaper by Stephen Bates about the United Nations scandal, I'd suggest that you contact Stephen Bates and see if he'd be willing to write something up for beliefnet.org. I didn't know that existed.
