No, that doesn't sound right. Anyway, a phone number is all that is needed for texts to be sent out. Who they have their phone service through doesn't come into play at all. Unless one of the elders is trying to get as many people to switch over to a particular carrier as part of some sort of business or pyramid scheme he may be involved in.

Really your actually asking that ?
Yes I am. Perhaps there are some congregations somewhere that didn’t have individuals or families that are total jerks. But I guess not.

Yes. Enough to make you nauseous. They were all bucking for eldership.
Yes. Exactly. And in my experience, they get even worse one they are appointed as an Elder. Some even act as, for lack of a better term, Super Elder, where they think that every utterance that comes from their mouth is inspired by Jehovah. When in reality they are clueless, ignorant, and quite frankly, stupid and naive.

Did every congregation have one or two self righteous suck ups? You know the type. The one who always has a platform assignment. The one who gets to always lead the congregation in prayer and does so with his eyes closed the tightest, head raised, and just goes on and on and on...and on....and on, especially if it’s a concluding prayer and the meeting is already running late.
The one who tries to act more spiritual than everyone else, and let’s you know that he is more spiritually mature than most every chance he gets.
Does every congregation seem to have one of those? Do they all get to become elders?

Funny, I'd have thought that any JW who voted on the sly would've leaned more rightward
I would have thought so too, but I think it depends on where in the US a person would be located. In most major cities, most people lean left and it seems that JW's in larger areas on both the East and West coast tend to lean that way as well.
Also, I think the admiration of the Obama's come from more than politics, but I'm not going to bring that subject up cause that's a whole other issue that I see as well, and JW's aren't supposed to be proud of their heritage or nationality. -

I know this isn't p.c. but even the black jw's loved the obamas
I’ve noticed that many JWs seem to love the Obamas. There was even an increase in disfellowshipping and reproving after Obama first got elected because there were many JWs in the US who went out and voted for him because they wanted to be part of history. (At least that’s the story that Brother Herd tells).
I have heard many times, especially while out in service, on how much the Obamas are admired. Never a bad or derogatory comment about him or his family. Now the current President is a different story. Again, I don’t care if you are for or against this administration, JWs shouldn’t be going there during ANY theocratic activity, then proudly proclaim to anyone who will listen (or not) that they are politically neutral.

they catch brothers for even less important stuffs
Thank you for your reply. However, in my experience, depending on who you are, they catch those they want to catch and look the other way or cover it up for others.

Why would the rank and file behave any differently?
True. But then, why then is voting a disfellowshipping offense? It’s ok to post political memes? Make comments on the politics of certain government officials, but it’s not ok to have a say at the ballot box?
What gets me is that the family of the lifelong witness that posted the meme of Trump in the coffin have always been very fanatical Witnesses . His Father would be the type to try to council a person, in a most unloving way I may add, about the most BS of so called offenses. He once saw someone at the store who had a pin with a certain rock band on their jacket and he made such a big deal about it. But yet his Son can post stupid political memes against Trump. (Not that I’m for or against Trump. It’s the principle of the thing). But then again, since when does the modern JW have any principles.
Just my observation.

Hi. Nice to be here. Still a PIMO and struggling through my fade.
I still have several JW friends on social media. And the past several years, I've noticed that some of them comment on, or even post political memes.
For example, a lifelong witness that I know posts several anti Trump memes. Latest one was after the "Bleach" controversy and it was a meme showing the President in a coffin with his wife, the Obama's, Hillary, Bushes all around the coffin celebrating. Another Meme I saw from someone else who is an active witness and an appointed man was a picture of the leader of the leader of NK with a Trump haircut. I have seen other memes, political comments, from several active witnesses, even appointed men.
Now, in our congregation, there have been Brothers who went up on the platform to offer up a prayer and mentioned certain presidential orders or events. More specifically, when the so called ICE raids were supposed to take place several months ago, this one Brother mentioned the Presidential Order specifically during the prayer and said that this will affect a lot of the brothers who are in this country illegaly. Some Sisters even said during service comments such as, they would love to meet Obama, and, "don't this dress make me look like Michelle Obama?" One elders wife even follows the Obama's on facebook and wished them a happy anniversary.
The point I feel is, that the Witnesses are supposed to be Polically Neutral. Why then are they even going there on anything political? It doesn't matter what side they may be on. or where they secretly stand politcally It strikes me as utter hypocrisy to go around preaching and bragging that the JW's are politically neutral and then go on social media like facebook or twitter and have the nerve to post polical memes or comments.
Just another case of do what I say, not do what I do, which is the way of the world that they are not supposed to be part of. Proves that they are all full if it, but we all knew that all along, didn't we? -

The opening Prayer He must have said Jehovah about 50 times. "we thank you Jehovah, for your guidence Jehovah, and Jehovah, we ask that you help us pay attention Jehovah, to the meeting Jehovah.....
Seriously!!! And every answer to a question is always....Jehovah. It reminded me of a Simpsons episode where the answer Bart always gave was.."Is it the Leader"?
Why must they use Gods name so much? I know they are called Jehovah's Witnesses but come on......
Like Stewie on Family Guy calling... Mom, Mom, Mom, Mommy, Mommy, Mama, Mama....Unitl finally Lois shouts. WHAT!!!
(Yes, I know I used two cartoon references in this post, but look where Ive been....)
