That's why there was the downsizing at Brooklyn, Wallkill, etc.; and there is a minimal amount of JWs at Warwick, since just about everything is electronic now.

Your point regarding:
Par 3 - “Selfish pleasures evidently crowded out unselfish love.”
A false dichotomy - people who enjoy the pleasures of life are equally capable of unselfish love. It is not one or the other. In fact people who are passionate about life and the joys of it are often the same ones who do a lot hard, unselfish, and philanthropic work to make life better for others.
I'm getting the strong vibe that the BORG is speaking about hobbies and other interests (i.e., music, sports, traveling, etc.). They have spoken against the R&F pursuing these and wanting them to put a great deal of their time and energies into the preaching work and meeting attendance. In fact, one of the GBs' helpers gave a talk at an Annual Meeting a few years back (if I'm not mistaken) discouraging traveling to different parts of the world "on this side of Armageddon. We can look forward to doing plenty of that in the New World".
I have noticed that some fully indoctrinated/PIMI JWs who don't engage in some form of recreation and relaxation become irritable, arrogant, selfish and unloving people (they only show "love" when they are love bombing to get more people into the BORG)! They reason that whatever happens to JWs is way more important than whatever happens and is occurring to other people who are non-dubs.
One having hobby and traveling can enable a person to become well rounded plus develop an open mind to all topics/subjects and experiences this planet has to offer. Thus, persons who enjoy life's pleasures are happier, selfless, compassionate, caring and more loving towards their fellow man and the world around them.

it was dated july 20.. in its opening salvo, the seven-member gb directed believers to not “shop at, buy, nor even wear” true religion's products.

in another video of ex-bethelite (how women are treated) a bethel elder is mentioned who talked to brothers at the table and gave advice abouth marriage and said that it would be the best to marry a women when is as young and pretty as possible, (at 8:45) so you have the possibilty to train her and to mode her in to what you want and get her used in the roles you set for her..... other bethelits made big errors and married older women 24,25.women that would have their own concepts of what bethel or marriage should be.

Are Bethelites Buying and Preparing their own Food?

although the program had ended in brooklyn, wallkill, etc., in around 2002, i noticed that the borg has commuters (sisters, particularly) holding this privilege of service at warwick!.
in a few previous postings which i told about my going on a recent bus trip to there, there were many single sisters used in that capacity as tour guides, cleaning the visitors' lobby and even directing traffic (two sisters had walkie-talkies, communicating to no doubt a central office, informing bus operators when to go and when to stop, when to let off their passengers, etc.).

Although the program had ended in Brooklyn, Wallkill, etc., in around 2002, I noticed that the BORG has commuters (sisters, particularly) holding this privilege of service at Warwick!
In a few previous postings which I told about my going on a recent bus trip to there, there were many single sisters used in that capacity as tour guides, cleaning the visitors' lobby and even directing traffic (two sisters had walkie-talkies, communicating to no doubt a central office, informing bus operators when to go and when to stop, when to let off their passengers, etc.).
I found all of this very interesting, because my sister and one of my closest two cousins (the three I spoke about in my previous threads) had applied many times for the above opportunity while they were regular pioneers; and they were rejected time and time again. However, now that I know TTATT and the inner workings of the BORG, I am not going to complain anymore about this aspect. Also, after telling those three family members about it (along with them reading the postings of this forum and checking out various YouTube videos), the above is no longer an issue to them anymore either. This is just my observation regarding what's really going on!
