Toxic waste site right? Hazardous chemicals that are dangerous enough to cost millions in clean up. Don't they have a lot of volunteers working in very hazardous conditions? Is that right? How many volunteers will sue the WT when they knowingly sent them to work there and they start coming down with illnesses? -

Dont Give Them More Power Than They Deserve
by Tech49 ina new montra that was recently adopted by the wife and i is this:.
dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.
we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

The org was started by Russell, who never passed the 7th grade, didn't want any body to go passed the 7th grade, and was NEVER a Minister - never Ordained by any Church - but insisted on being called Minister Russell. His wife divorced him and stated in Court (local newspapers available online) for locking himself in the bedroom of their orphaned 14yr old house girl overnights. (have your doubts - but she could not testify at the divorce trial because she was on a slow boat to Australia with a pocket full of cash) (and all these treads of WT/JW child sexual abuse - hmmm - who do you think started it? and condoned it? It started at the TOP.)
Rutherford was never ever a "Judge" but high-jacked the Watchtower, stole over 150 million (modern equivalent) from humans to build a mansion and travel the world, wrote fan letters sucking up to Hitler, adopted brainwashing techniques from the Hitler Youth Programs (notably to turn in relatives) - and still insisted everyone call him "Judge".
What could possibly go wrong with humans claiming to run the lives of other humans?

Kudos. Where do they get their power from? They are humans. They have NO edict from God. Everyone has just as much religious authority as they do.
A bit of confusion on my part - no one is allowed to have birthdays or special days or celebrations, because that would elevate one person above another. Don't they do that every day? They hate the Catholic Church for having a hierarchy that puts people above other people - don't they do the exact same thing? Who are "elders" or "GB" to sit in judgement of other humans? They have NEVER spoken to God - they have to authority to speak for God. If you ask me they pretty much F#@$T^$ED up any right to speak for God at least a dozen times claiming the end of the world on fixed dates. I hope they do get a chance to speak with God - he's pretty pissed at all of them and already has special seating picked out for them.

What were Satan and his demons "doing" up in heaven, before being "cast down" in 1914?
by Dunedain ini was just thinking about how the wts has been spouting off for years that satan and his demons were cast down to the vicinity of the earth in 1914, but really, when you think about it, what was the difference before 1914 or after 1914?.
its not like satan and his demons did not have access to the earth.
satan and his demons always were messing with earth.

What is with 1914? Why does everyone keep saying 1914? Nothing happened in 1914. -

Is it true that they decided not to build Walkill Recreation center and then buried the foundation?
by Indian Larry ini saw this on ex jw reddit:"this may not be news to you but it was to me.

I still can't get past it. The Watchtower is choosing to be world wide headquared in WARwick and WALL-KILL. The PR department just took the kool aid. -

Eagerly anticipating the death of billions!
by stuckinarut2 insurely someone who eagerly looks forward to the death of billions of people (including babies and children) is not emotionally healthy?.
yet, that is the key belief "happily" anticipated by witnesses.... food for thought?.

Beth - love your posts. Nothing is going to happen. Nothing is going to happen for millions of years. It is really sad and pathetic that people like the Watchtower lie and coerce people in to stupid thoughts. The Watchtower lies and cheats to take your money and gain power - that's the real armageddon. With "Beth Sarim" you should know it's all a fraud. -

I'm OK with it. The Watchtower is an Armageddon cult. They mistakenly believe they are the anti-christ wanting the end of the world. The Watchtower and "Jehovah" Witnesses will be at the front of the line for the lake of fire for false prophets. God hates them for lying to people. The sole purpose of the Watchtower is to keep people out of Christian Churches and out of the Bible they can't control. -

Why does the Watchtower and Jehovah's Witnesses use the Bible?
by WireRider inthe watchtower, post russell, and the jehovah's witnesses hate the jews and the catholics.
they are not allowed to even set foot in the churches of the bible.
they endlessly rail against how wrong they are - but they are all based on their book??.

That you for the dialog. Well said. I need to think about the implications.
Because its very difficult to gain credibility with a brand new holy book and anyone who claims to be directly inspired by God or to have special knowledge is quickly challenged to prove it, which as yet nobody can. So its easier to use an existing book to base your theology on and to claim to be the only one correctly interpreting it.
I think we all need time to ponder that. The WT/JW is only a 100 yrs old and tried to force a religion.
In the case of the Watchtower, Rutherford just evolved Russell's belief that Christianity had essentially been corrupted (this idea originated during the protestant reformation) and it was the Bible Student's task to distill the "truth" from the lies. Therefore sooner or later (later in this particular case) a Jehovah's Witness version of the Bible had to logically follow.
I do respectively disagree. In the mid 1900's Christianity from some small place in the middle east didn't have time to be corrupted. Russell followed Miller to Arianism and Adventistism and end-of-the-world religions.
Russell had a successor picked out. It wasn't Rutherford. Rutherford hijacked the group and commercialized it. He stole over 150 million to build his place in CA. He was never a pastor - or cared.

Someone tell me why the Watchtower is tax exempt?
by WireRider ini live in a town.
there is a watchtower kingdom hall.
they do not pay any local sales tax or property tax.

I live in a town. There is a Watchtower Kingdom Hall. They do not pay any local sales tax or property tax. They have local coverage of police and fire and community services for free --- at the unwanted expense of EVERYONE else.
The Watchtower is a plague and blight on all our communities. They suck up services. Tax free. AND THEY HAVE NO PLACE OR REASON to be here. They offer NO benefit to the community at all.
The WT/JW are like locusts. Tax free - robing locals.
We hate them. Stop knocking at our doors unwanted. Not unwanted - despised. Get out.
Get off my door step and stop sucking up my taxes - I never agreed to pay local taxes to cover you!

Use use the Old Testament - hate Jews for writing it wrong and misunderstanding their own writings. Use use the New Testament and hate hate the Catholics that wrote it for understanding it wrong.
Why do the WT/JW hate the Jews and Catholics so very much for writing the book they follow so seriously?
The WT/JW are not allowed to set foot into the writers of the book they follow.
