No One on GB Anointed
by TakeOffTheCrown inwhat if no one on the governing body is truly anointed?
what if they just proclaim they are anointed and partake in order to gain authority, but they are not anointed?
what will happen to them when they die?

Charles Russell was never a theologian. He never passed the seventh grade. He was never an ordained minister at all. He just made shit up. Russell was an idiot and wrong. Rutherford was truly the snake oil salesman that knowingly ripped people off. -

hmm. what does GOD need with a starship? what does GOD need with my money or your money?
wouldn't the claimed spokespeople for GOD pretty much have all the wealth they will ever need. I am becoming very suspicious that they are not the divine spokespeople for GOD they claim.
hmm...

Has anyone watched the movie "Stigmata"?
by WireRider ininteresting movie about biblical cover-ups.
"no gospels in jesus's own words.
" the vatican, admittedly the largest collection of all christian scrolls and documents, would split up pages between translators to keep it secret.. theme: "split a piece of wood and i am there.

Theme: "Split a piece of wood and I am there. Lift a stone and you will find me."
Fictional - but practical. The Catholic Church tries to hide the fact that a Church is entirely unnecessary in order to have a relationship with God/Jesus.
In the end he does find the Gospel of Jesus - that really discredits all churches in general as fakes and unneeded and unwanted.

It is a little venting. What does the WT do for the world? I hear snake oil salesmen with a printing company and now a real estate company. What have they done to deserve people just giving them money, time, effort, and praise?
I wish everyone would know not only the motives but the real use of their money.

My beautiful 7th grade daughter just finished her Christmas Concert tonight.
by PaintedToeNail inmy lovely daughter played in her orchestra's concert tonight, in spite of her father who tried to make her feel guilty about it.
he went to the kh tonight, while my youngest child and i went to listen to joyous music played by the local kids at our town's school.
my girl was front and center and she did a great job.

Good for you. Truly. I find it interesting that God must know about unapproved activities - but somehow requires times sheets for reporting activity. -

Elders now ORDERED by the Org to fleece the sheep
by The Searcher inthe org is now demanding money from the witnesses, via the latest letter sent to elders regarding the circuit's excess funds.
succeeded in getting elders everywhere to hand over their own congregation's "excess funds" - now their circuit's bank balances are going to be plundered.. the spineless and subservient elders will cooperate without a whimper, because they're afraid of losing their little bit of power which the org has bestowed upon them.
(john 11:48).

I never ever want to read "Watchtower" and "donations" in the same sentence EVER again. What do they do to help anyone? What do people just give them money?
What is the purpose of the "Watchtower"?
Why do so many stupid people just give them their money, their effort, their volunteered labor?
Why?

Can everyone agree on an anti-Watchtower definition?
by WireRider ini would like to see a unified effort from those that have defected.
certainly there are exceptional, very legitimate, detailed experiences from a few.
what about the regulars that chose to leave?

I would like to see a unified effort from those that have defected. Certainly there are exceptional, very legitimate, detailed experiences from a few. What about the regulars that chose to leave? I would like to publish it with your input paring it down to a paragraph or two.
I personally do not see the Watchtower as a Religion. It is a niche product that the Watchtower used to sell printing material and build an empire. Cult subservients, that are required to go door-to-door, enslave others are comically referred to as a rank of "publishers", who are required to file time sheets (NO religions do that) to the Watchtower to somehow prove themselves to human slaves. As I recall, Israel fled those conditions. It has been filled with lying, cheating, and deliberately and knowingly false statements and publications. The foundation is a firm believer in Arias that was kicked of the Bible counsel in 320AD. Charles Russell is a former Millerite/Adventist that carried forward very false dire death/destruction beliefs that have failed a dozen times. His claim of the end of the world was based upon pagan measurements of a pyramid.
Based upon all the experience here I would like to come up with a statement - instead of just griping about it. Perhaps an objective "definition" of the Watchtower, and a well formed letter of beliefs and concepts that can be very openly sent to EVERYONE.

Noah's Ark
by Darkknight757 inso i'm reading the book "the atheist book of bible stories" and something just occurred to me.. noahs ark rested on the top of mount ararat.
how the hell did all the land animals, dinosaurs and other monsters get to ground level?
did noah and his family just push them off the mountain and hope for the best?

I know of two alternatives:
The Sumerian tablets had exactly the same story recorded a few thousand years earlier. It could have been passed down and re-written for the Bible. I think there are at least 5 stories of the same tale from different cultures.
Historian point out that the area was prone to floods. Noah would have actually gather 2 of each of his heard on a small boat to just keep his livestock alive. Floated just a few miles. It was his occupation - like any homeowner would do to protect his lively hood. Stories from mouth-to-mouth change after 100's of years.

Very Sad ... Another Terrorist Attack here in the USA ... and not enough guns to defend us
by RubaDub inif only there were more people with guns perhaps some lives would have been saved.. it's a sad state of affairs here in the us when enough people aren't armed when there is an attack.. if someone simply had a gun or was wearing a suicide vest to take the perpetrators out, other lives could have been saved.. rub a dub .

What is better? Terrorists killing because of religion who are 150% army-ish and a country that is 10-30% army-ish, or terrorists that are 150% army-ish and a country that is 0% army-ish?
Part of the think is mutual assured destruction. A group of terrorist running into a Christmas party where 10% may be carrying guns - may think twice about starting to shoot. Of course there is the suicide part, but may only a few would have been killed before the terrorist were killed.
It is a practical measure. Give the option, I would rather be standing next to the guy that was armed.
