"Mother" knows best

when i first watched the movie "tangled" with my daughter this scene really creeped me out and made me think of the borg.

it seems with the title of a convention talk "motivate rightheartedones to love .

.their spiritual mother (proverbs 6:20)" they want to bring back the term "mother" for the next generation.

i have to echo 'puffdragon'....
we had a district overseer that used the term 'mother' repeatedly...and i must say, after one year of working closely with him, it rubbed off on me.
and trust me, i wasn't trying to sound all 'earnest' or doing it for attention: i really believed it.
somehow, it was a beautiful idea when i had my 'eyes' closed.

memories like that do more to force me to work on humility...more than ANYthing i ever read in a bible...
to this day, it all reminds me that everything i know can be WRONG...even now.
life is not static: it changes, and so do i.
'once and for all' decisions are impractical and dangerous for a being that is literally changing by the second.

im a teeny tiny human being.

all that you said about the original three being 'love' and us being a reflection, and so on and so on...all very beautiful.
makes me go all warm and fuzzy inside.
of course, you cant prove it...and frankly, you dont have to...because you FEEL it, very strongly no doubt, and thats enough for you.

that's why i dont argue with 'faith' anymore.
im saddled by these pesky things called facts...and they just are no match for 'faith'...which could care less about them.

me? i think the whole Bible thing is a great read once or twice.
and l stick by may original post: the 'Devil' fella MAKES it.
he's standing up for freedom and trying to make a point about personal and independent freedom.
is there some collateral damage in his 'method'.
no doubt. but it's much less blood than old Yaweh/Jehovah leaves behind in his friendly fire.
oh sure, 'but he can resurrect these unfortunate friendly-fire victims to a BETTER life!'.

yea....sucks they have to suffer and die tho.
ive never died before. when you're not ready and in pain, i bet its kind of scary.

the very idea of an 'unsung' hero means that he is UNSUNG.
therefore, there is no passage in your Bible that states that Satan is a 'hero'...primarily because the entire book is slanted propaganda from the opposition.

heh...maybe the story shows him (Satan) as no friend to JOB, who after all was doomed in this situation because of his link to his God....but NO, youre wrong, this story does not show him to be no friend to MAN, in general.
Job does not represent ALL mankind. sorry.
your argument is called a 'reductive fallacy'. its a statement of gross over-simplification.

would be like me saying that, by virtue of the way God dealt with Jezebel it can be assumed that God hates women.

Job is not all mankind. neither is Adam or Eve.

So...Job.
the guy loses his kids, all of his money, and his old lady thinks he's an idiot. he's in pain...outcast, and disgraced.
he's basically going through an experience that would lead many well-adjusted, nice guys to suicide.
so he calls out to God and, in so many words, asks...'Why me?'

so, God proceeds to give him a more-than-chapers-worth rebuke/lecture.
and NEVER ONCE lets him in on 'the game'.

and THAT, excuse my french, is a punk ass move on the part of the 'god of love and compassion'.

God's laws regarding homosexuality, slavery, a misogynistic attitude towards women, etc etc (i could go on and you KNOW this) show that Jehuvah/Yaweh is no friend to men, either.
depending on what kind of human being you are, i suppose.

i wont debate anymore. i love you with a universal love, because we are all connected. I am in you and you are in me...we always have been and always will be. i love you.

but, i made a promise to myself to never argue 'faith' again.
not a fair fight: im bounded by logic and facts.
