by Unlearn inso, i dont know if this has been posted/addressed here...but watching this whole jackson family thing play out in the public eye is surreal.. the press assume that the only reason mj's brothers and janet are contesting his will and want control of the kids, is money.. seriously...mj's bros and sisters dont need his money: his bros get paid everytime you hear a jackson 5 song.
they're all millionaires.. janet is loaded.
but, the media doesnt know what we know...so they assume that the only reason they'd want mj's kids is for the $$$$ that come along with them as part of the deal.. we know better.. i believe a big amount of respect is due to janet and jermaine and the rest of the gang...theyre trying to rescue those kids from a jw brainwashing fate.. i'd bet money on it.. they say janet was trying to convince paris to willingly leave her grandmothers home and come with them.. im telling you...they're trying to save those kids.. and as any of you who have close family still in the cult can attest to, we apostates are some of the most loving, long-suffering people on the planet...as many of us publicly hold our tongues repeatedly when it comes to that cult, because we dont want to hurt mom, or dad, or kids, or siblings.

clearly the judge and legal forces involved cant see through the money-grubbing plot of the ENTIRE rest of the family...eh slimboy?

you obviously havent heard some of the insinuations that Jermaine, Randy, Janet, and LaToya have made in interviews.
and yes, my post explained why someone in their positions (VERY high profile) wouldn't say something openly negative about the witnesses.
when Jermaine does an interview years ago and says that there were certain things in his upbringing that were not healthy, but that he understands that his parents did what they thought was right....and then says that, as an adult, his new spiritual beliefs cleansed him of old 'harmful' things...well, read between the lines.

came out in the early 1980's.. i'll always remember it because it screwed up one of my favorite past-times: i was around 13 years old and a hardcore collector.. after this article, it was a continual tug-o-war with my dad over comics....and it lasted until i was 18 and moved out.. .

an interesting aside:
i got appointed as an elder back when i was 30 years old....but i found out years later from another elder on the body, that i had actually been almost appointed 6 months before, but it was objected to by one elder in particular...who's major problem with me was that I had turned his 14 year-old son on to comic reading/collecting a year or two before. and guess which mag he dug up to support his point?
yep...the 1983 AWAKE on comics...
which had come out 17 years earlier....

it picutred some comics in one panel...one of them being a copy of WOLVERINE, from the limited series that came out in the early 80's. btw, the cover of that comic shows him sitting in the dark...dejected and sad over the fact that (as you learn in the comic) someone very close to him has just died. underneath the image of this comics cover, the AWAKE caption said something about how certain comics (such as the one depicted) deal with 'the occult'.
at 12 years old, that was the first rumbling of something fishy in WT (from my POV)....i knew it then, but it wasn't clearly defined. see, i was an expert on the X-Men...and i had that very Wolverine comic from the early 80's. i'd read it...many times. AND THEY WERE LYING. there was NOTHING in there about the occult. so WHY WOULD THEY EVEN ATTEMPT TO MAKE THAT CLAIM? ah, they looked at the cover and saw a weird looking man...a 'monster' man. sitting in the dark. and the title...'Wolverine'...i can almost bet they heard something similar to 'wolfman'. who knows.
any kid with a working knowledge of the marvel comics universe in the early 80's would've looked at that and had the same reaction....
'Nuuh Uhhhn! THATS NOT TRUE! Wolverine is not occult! YOU'RE LYING!'
that's 'child-speak' for, 'You're trying to use superficial stereotypes bandied about for years by fundamental right-wing idealists to push an erroneus conclusion!'
they hadn't even bothered to read the comic. they'd seen the cover and made blanket assumptions based on 1950's era stereotypes.
they hadn't even read it and they just LIED. isn't lying wrong?
and they'd lied about Wolverine. which pissed me off.
and jacked with one of the pure joys of childhood i enjoyed...guilt-free.

trust me, im in 'the business': they could. im not talking about making just one, but many.
and yes, they could go after you on intellectual property rights, even if you're not selling them...even if you're GIVING THEM AWAY. doesn't mean they'd win, but they are just the type of org that would force you to defend yourself...just to make you bleed your $$$ away. ive seen it done.
'parody' laws only get you so far...and 'fair use' is VERY relative these days, thanks to the internet.
plus, if watchtower ever found out that I was behind it, specifically...well...there are certain instigatory elements up there in Brooklyn who would take GREAT pleasure nailing my ass to the wall.
