  many people think that wt is a publishing company and at one time that was true.

  however, they are slowly fading that out into more digital publications.

  we all have come to the conclusion that printed material from the wt is going way of the dinosaur.

  in bethels hay day, there was a shit ton of literature being printed, they even need a giant factory with elevators a truck could fit in.

  It only had one building for offices. They are going to have bigger bible museum. But not much more. In the plans I saw I didn't see a laundry. I got look at the pictures.

  You hear crazy comments like: one the reasons they are building Warwick is that during 9/11 people try to in the Brooklyn properties. When Armageddon hits they don't want be in the city. People would attack betel.

  Like I said locals are on the lake every day I'm sure if the chemicals was a big issue the neighbors and IBM would be making a big deal.

  yesterday i was with a group of brothers that wanted my advice on re-roofing a home.

  three of them were ministerial servants.

  I think we need spanish section here it would be helpful.

  @never a jw Spanish already has more publishers around the world then English. They already the majority.

  Going back to my two week stint at Warwick the English bro's with tell me we are building this because of Spanish having so many new ones. My roommate that was from Kentucky said they haven't had a new publisher from the territory in over 5 years.

  Had conversation with a friend from the branch yesterday. He has been there for 25 years. He told me the tipical jah would provide. They told them they were looking to reduce 15 to 20 percent in each dept. Honestly his voice sounded worried hope some wake up. In reality most wont the org is all they know.

  How will many JW's react ?

  i did not believe i would see the demise of the wt in my lifetime, and maybe i will not, they may be able to ride out their present problems.. but how do you think this will affect the average, loyal, believing jw ?.

  usually most things just wash over them, if there is a slight niggle, they use their well-worn way of explaining things to themselves as in "the end is near" or "jehovah knows best" etc etc.

  but the huge sea-change in corporate policy that we see unfolding, all construction work stopped, except warwick and maybe their biggest project, chelmsford u.k. huge bethel layoffs, and the lifestyle of the remaining staff reduced to virtual slavery, more bethel closures, spiritual food reduced for the public as well as the r&f, and all of this being the opposite of what they have claimed was evidence of jehovah's blessing ???.

  being at Warwick I saw that there is still a lot of dubbies who are hardcore. On the other hand most young ones don't believe much.

  I talked to a friend at the branch yesterday and he mention every dept has to make modifications. They will start building again next year. They are running low on volunteers. They want to finish Warwick first. At the rate there going they will finish Warwick before next summer.

  @freemindfade not really I did not hear anything about toxic waste. Actually, during the day you see locals fishing and swimming on it. The other thing is that they have neighbors on the other side of the lake/dam. The company is IBM, the crazy bro's felt that they build the branch near them for a reason. Because after the big A they would use those offices and there computers. Mind you these were just crazy volunteers saying this.

  There were a lot of nice people working there. You had some wackos too. One interesting thing is that they would tell you not to preach to the contractors.

  I was there and the jW.org sign was there. I have video of a GB apartment 2 bedrooms with two walk in closets. It also has two living rooms and balconies. Very nice and modest.

  My Opinions on whats going on in WT land - Insider Information

  first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

  that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

  they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

  I want say hell to all first.

  I worked at Warwick during the summer for two weeks. They waste so much time and money. They hired outside contractors to do most of the big work. It cost them so much money to do that.

  Most of the brothers working there think they are building the new Jerusalem temple. They use the expression we're building, buildings that will last hundreds of years.

  Were they have spend most of the money is on the lodging side of it. They have over 30 hotels I stayed at Doubletree Terrytown. They also had to hire transportation companies that take and bring brothers from hotels to Warwick. Going over budget for a project that size is not unusual. When you don't have many financial experts you end up wasting more money then you should.

  One example is that they had to out bid a company for a crane. I forgot the number they payed, it was way higher then what they expected.
