  If you think Watchtower is disappearing any time soon…

  you are sadly mistaken.. i hear people say it on here all the time, and dare i say his name *cough* lloyd evans *cough* has said it a number of times, that watchtower is running scared and watchtower is in decline….. we need to put in perspective the decrease from the 2020 report.

  if we calculate a yearly -0.6 decrease over a 10 year period from 2020 figures it leaves us the grand total number of witnesses of:.

  by 2030: - 7,933,479. by 2040: - 7,471,357. by 2050: - 7,036,154. i agree that this is a significant decrease, but let’s not kid ourselves, the wt organisation will still be alive and well even with an annual 0.6% loss.

  by 2030: - 7,933,479

  by 2040: - 7,471,357

  by 2050: - 7,036,154

  I agree that this is a significant decrease, but let’s not kid ourselves, the WT organisation will still be alive and well even with an annual 0.6% loss. Any reports of it’s near collapse are largely exaggerated.

  Although this all might sound pessimistic, I still hold on hope that something massive will cause the WTs collapse, one event that will bring it to its knees. But sadly, that’s all most of us can do, hope.

  i’m reservations, pimo elder.

  i’m in no position to leave the organisation, maybe some people will see that as weak or whatever, but we have to all go down our own path in life.. i would like to be able to wake people up in my congregation, how do you think best to do this?

  any ideas?.

  You all make some fantastic points. Thanks for the advice.

  On the point of “why” I want to wake people up…pistolpete you make a good point, the paradise has a calming effect on people, they will wake up when they want. Maybe I need to just focus on myself more, and what will be will be.

  There is also an element of staying an elder, then when something scandalous happens (ie: child abuse coverup hits the fan) quit in a blaze of glory, but I think I might just be kidding myself. You can forever put off leaving, waiting for the precise moment. I don’t know.

  Increase = Jehovah’s Blessing?

  i’ve been trying to find any recent quotes that say the increase in witnesses every year is evidence of jehovah’s blessing on the organisation.. i know the ready made excuse if there is a decrease is “love of greater number will cool off”….

  after splanes talk i can feel a significant decrease coming..

  But does anyone have any quotes from the organisation recently that says “increase of publishers = Jehovah’s blessing”?

  Because it’s generally accepted, if the org is the 1 true religion, everyone else is loosing members whilst we are gaining them. But….I can’t remember ever seeing it published…

  I would argue that the 15 minute a month reporting change won’t make much of a difference. Those who leave, can’t report any time. And I feel the report will make it obvious that there has been a lot who have left. IMHO obviously

  I know many elders and servants who started reporting 15 mins a month in the past year.

  JWs are so suspicious of thrift shops. Literally the amount of people who I’ve heard say something about buying second hand items that might have demons in it...crazy town.

  the watchtower has always banged on about not pursuing worldly careers and that best career was 'theocratic service.

  but now i am wondering what line they will take.

  let's have look at the options;.

  JWs have had their heyday.

  The JW religion today will look very different this time next year. This years AGM has got to address the problem.

  Think, sell KH’s = No paying and funding LDC members. And a massive Pay Day $$$$

  Reduce CO visits to 1 a year = Cull half of the COs, and make circuits twice as big. With Assemblies online, it doesn't matter how big the circuit is.

  Reduce in printing = more bethel layoffs

  No Regional conventions = save literally millions per venue. Don’t try and tell me they rake in millions of $$$ per venue. People can’t afford to donate as much as yesteryear.

  Job opportunities in JW land are becoming more and more sparse. And whatever is available, you have to pay the privilege (acting for videos, pay your own way and fund not working for X amount of months)
