I wonder if they are reformers or conformists?
Once Herd and Loesch die, they could seriously affect the tide of policy and doctrine. Herd and loesch probably vote conservatively, but that’s obviously speculation.

isn’t it about time they released the report for the service year?
or have they stopped publishing it?
did they released selected figures at the annual meeting as they usually do, such as the memorial attendance or record number of pioneers?
Even if the organisation can not be sued for changes in doctrine and policies, they will never change the doctrine and policies that NEED changing.
Blood
Disfellowshipping
1914
All 3 of those need revising to make this religion more palatable for new prospects. On top of that younger people are less likely to join or stick around due to the hard stance on LGBT, which is another thing that will not change.
But, you make a major change on any of those and you’ve got more than a leaky ship.
The GB are in between a rock and a hard place. Their average age is 72/73 so my guess is they will continue to patch up the leaks, and leave the mess to the next generation of GB to clean up.

The problem the org faces, is that it takes sooooo long to make any noticeable changes. They need to revamp doctrine and practices quickly in order to stay relevant.
But by doing that you are going to alienate huge swathes of the membership. But will they take a short term loss to stay relevant for the future?
And what can they REALLY change?
They can’t touch blood - Law Suits
They can’t touch disfellowshipping - mass exodus / law suits
They can’t touch 1914 without having a major overhaul of all doctrine - That will disillusion millions.
Basically the 3 main areas that they need to overhaul in order to grow properly and become mainstream, are untouchable IMHO.

I refer to “the old guard” dying off in the next 10/15 years.
I, along with everyone else, can only report what we see first hand. And in my circuit(s) where I live, at least 70-75% are over 65.
The mass die off coupled with the fact that members are not being recruited from the “field” like they used to is a sure sign it will be in decline.
In 1986 the 5 year attrition rate was 0.19
In 2022 the 5 year attrition rate is 0.86
This is evidence that they are not recruiting like they used to, and those “old guard” who were around in 1981 are hitting their 70s now.
So I’m sticking with my 10/15 year prediction. Earliest I would say is start of the 2030s.
Evidence shows that many left after 1975, but they recovered in the 80s and 90s with strong baptism numbers. Early figures show they are loosing the same amount, but are not being replaced with new baptisms.

I don’t think they will ever stop the year report.
It was very bad after the 1975 fallout, they recovered, i suspect they believe they will recover again.
The current 3 year attrition rate is 0.92
The current 5 year attrition rate is 0.86
The only time the 3 year rate was above 1 was 1979.
The 5 year rate also in 1979 was 0.95.
Figures show we aren’t in 1975 fallout territory. Yet.
Give it 10/15 years when the old guard die off, and the kids who are only hanging on for their parents (who have died) leave, THEN you will see the real decline. It will make the 1975 fallout look like a walk in the park.
2022 grand totals.
branches of jehovah’s witnesses: 86. .
number of lands reporting: 239. .
Only 2.5% of Bible studies got baptised.
How many of those 97.5% of Bible studies will stick it out to baptism?
The attrition rate was 0.85. Only until that rate is over 1 average for a 5 year period, IMHO we can’t honestly say this organisation is in decline.

1,144,549 persons baptised in a 5 year period from 2017 - 2022
154,389 publisher increase in the same 5 year period
990,160 total MIA From 2017 - 2022
sarah kellen has been described as jeffery epstein's 'lieutenant' for allegedly sourcing and booking girls for 'massages'.. kellen’s [jehovah's witness] parents said they knew almost nothing about what their daughter’s duties involved because they became estranged from her at around the time she took the job with epstein when she was aged 18 or 19.. the split with her family came after kellen was thrown out of the church for allegedly leading an “immoral” lifestyle:.
sarah’s parents told the daily mail they love her and would welcome her back as long as she rejoins the church and shows them she’s committed to the faith.. so, is she a victim or a sly fox?.
.
No wonder she got kicked out, what a piece of shit. The narrative that leaving the watchtower drives people to do heinous things due to not having family support is ridiculous.
original reddit post (removed).
I wouldn’t be surprised if his wife Dijana ends up going back to the organisation with her 2 kids.
Now THAT would be a kick in the teeth wouldn’t it Lloyd.
