  Two witness rule: Stop using it, its not working on JWs!

  most jws don't see this as a problem.

  they reason that.

  just like the jws, the police will not convict a pedophile over the story of one victim alone, there must be collaborative evidence.

  Not only should elders be encouraging going to police but they should also be encouraging going to counseling. They should be supporters of the victims helping them go to police and counseling.

  However, the Watchtower organization still does not come close to understanding how sexual abuse effects the victim. They do not get the far reaching, life long lasting damage. The crushing soul destruction. They don't seem to even be able to display basic compassion in listening sessions when complaints are brought to them.

  Basically, the Watchtower is useless. Sorry, just my rant.😡

  hey guys!

  i just want you guys to know that today is a really great day.

  there are so many jehovah's witnesses that saw this documentary and were disgusted by watchtowers policy.

  I just finished watching this. Awesome job by all involved. The infamous 60 minutes special from the 90's in the United States was good but this was way better. I love how there does seem to now be a dialogue between the governing body and activists (albeit not face to face but they are watching and responding). I wonder who it was that posted on Facebook a video of the protesters? Was this just some young bethelite or what?

  Why are there more sisters than brothers at the Kingdom Hauls?

  i have always wondered why there are more females than males in all of the congregations that i have visited?

  some of these females are in their 70's so maybe their husbands have died and women just live longer.

  or could the reason be that years ago men were the breadwinners and women stayed home to raise the children thus they were home during the week when the jdubs came a knocking?

  After leaving the JWs - Has anyone stayed with Christianity?

  i recently made the decision to stop studying with my study conductor, due to a situation i found myself in that led to a high possibility of my unbaptized publisher "rights" being taken away from me.

  i have since told my study conductor i have joined a new church (to which she dropped me like a hot rock, of course).... last time i posted on here, i was progressing nicely towards baptism, and was well into it.anyhoo, i like my new church, very hillsong-esqe.

  so just wondering if anyone else has stayed the course of christianity after leaving the jws, and if so - where did you go?

  From what I can tell it use to be more common that when people left the JW's many (maybe most?) would stay christian. However, things have changed (perhaps along with society) that now most who leave become agnostic/atheist/Humanist.

  All who are shunned know the adverse effects of such. We feel it. We know how it has changed us. But does it the experience change our brain? I believe it does. I base this on my own talks with pschyologists, therapists, research and my own experience. I don't know how in depth this has been studied though by actual researchers. I would like to see it done. If you know of such research ease post it. I have linked below research done as to trauma and the brain changing. I believe shunning is trauma and in most cases what led up to shunning is someone who has been through trauma.
