i'd like to start off this post by saying, we all know that the wt loves control.
it's clear by their history, their wt's, the elder arrangement and so on.
however, after witnessing and using the publish id program in person, it takes this need for control to a whole new level & it was scary.. if you've ever seen builder assist (the website program used for ldc volunteers) or the metro program, it actually looks pretty similar to that.
Wow this is scary. I presume they need to control EVERYTHING.
they warn people about the government antics but in the end...they are not that different.
At least with the worldly governments they do give a choice of leadership... with the Witnesses whoever IN has to follow their self appointed righteous clowns.
imagine this.
someone has been involved in a car crash or shooting.
total strangers usually rush to the aid of the victims.
I see it like this:
if the person believes in god existence then they will thank god and feel that there was some sort of divine intervention.
But if the person doesn’t believe that there’s a higher being, then that person will probably feel that human kind is not that bad as so many feel that we are.
We all know what suffering can be like on our own skin so we are prompted to help others based on our own knowledge of pain.

we got some presents for our kids and a tree.

When I was a bible student we never went out on Xmas day.
We were told in the hall that because that was a special day to others that we should take easy use discernment and respect those that were celebrating.
My country of birth is a catholic country mostly. Maybe because of that, I’m not sure.
I'm so surprised to read that people went to service Xmas day, witnesses would definitely would be mistreated in my home town if dared to knock. Plus most people would be attending church anyways.

In the uk we have Boxing Day which is a bank holiday, so an extra chilling day to enjoy. Love it!

each new thing, birthdays, halloween, next thanksgiving and xmas are all proof that we were held back and restricted from enjoying life.. .

Not a threat to a government but are a danger to themselves, to those that they recruit and to their own families that unfortunately are dragged under the bus when parents form a blinding alliance with the watchtower organisation.

they come uninvited to your door step and try to discuss bible/wt doctrines with you, and many times or on occasion you do so.. you may even exchange first names with each other , and that is fine if you are happy with that but do you know where they live ?.
but they have an advantage over you .they know your name and where you live .!.
you may know there first name but you don`t know where they live .that is the advantage they have over you.. does it really matter ?

on my house I have something like a no wanted sign, I’ve seen witnesses get to my door just to turn back once they see it.
I can no longer get in discussions or the silly questions that they want to ask. And I’ve instructed my children not to open the door too.... just in case. 😬

Not me... phew... parents were not witnesses.
Dad studied just before he died when I was a teen. But didn’t live with us as mum had enough of getting beaten up.
But I have a brother-in-law that is destroying his family unit at the moment by being ...(excuse my angry language) the BIGGEST NARCISSISTIC ASS in the world!!
Worse narcissistic parents than the religion. Like blondie says... they have more control and more time spent with the children.
Not to mention that the whole family FAILS if a member is not seen as favourable.

perhaps not a topic for everybody... mine.. in both sp service in a foreign field in europe , the freedom and helping people to read and write in spanish .
doing a lot of work in the congregations.. in missionary-service.. helping congregations in a third-world country and see good results in family relations.

No good memories.
I went out In service as a teen. The feeling of not being enough if I didn’t then the feeling of shame of having to face school mates after the weekend service, they either saw me around town or they saw me at their door. I felt so ashamed and then I felt guilty for it but I felt that I needed to go as my siblings were doing service EVERY weekend.
Was horrible. In those days we needed to ask for a donation for the watchtower and the awake publications. I felt so guilty asking for it.
Didn’t helped me to make friends in school as I was dubbed “she’s a Jehovah’s”.
I was a shy child and very naive.
I had only one friend in school at a time, either primary or high school, the other leftover (like me) that nobody wanted to be seen with. Nonetheless they were true and trustworthy friends.
