Why does he stay in?

i was seeing a jw man for about a year and a half until l broke it off with him last week.

we met on a dating site.

he shouldn’t have been on there, of course, but he was lonely.

i agree with the above post. He lives half a life with a foot dipped in each world.

to answer your question.... guilt.

he admitted that he’s not worthy, that he’s not a good witness, he admits he does it all but can’t leave.... so he stays IN to better himself... as jws say often “we’re not perfect”, the reply to so many questions that they don’t want to face.

If he stays in.... he can still feel he has a chance to be “saved”.

Until he sees this is not the real “Tooth” there won’t be the possibility of a relationship... and still... will take him some time to untangle himself from indoctrination of the cult.

Programmed to return

i found out this morning via facebook that someone i know returned to “the truth”.. her elder husband had abused her for years until she had a breakdown and had sex with a non believer.

this happened several years ago.

she now returned to the fold with her newly converted man.

Those that have left and found that the truth is not any kind of tooth...probably can understand how silly this is.

But maybe for her found back in was about getting her family back.

Also as mentioned she could be left feeling worse than when she was in. Sometimes people need those little four walls 🔲 where they know exactly what is expected of them. THERE is where they exist... and OUT of it... THEY are no one. Stepping out of the barrier it’s not even a thought.

Hopefully she will get whatever she’s looking for.

are the witnesses now considered "clergy " ?

years ago when i was a jw, one of their cornerstone teachings was that they were nothing like babylon the great.

i remember being taught that the witnesses not using any type of clergy class distinction was proof that they had the right religion.. well, recently we had this article in the local paper, and an elder who was no doubt the presiding overseer tried to use the clergy class excuse to get out of answering questions regarding a child abuse case.

here is the statement that really got to me.

just looking at the pictures in tomorrow's wt study makes me think of the nightmares i used to have as a child.

and nowadays the pictures are sometimes more realistic, so for any who are truly mentally in, this has a terrible effect on them and even their life choices.

looking in as a pimo or pomo it seems almost comical that adults would believe in this sci-fi bible fan-fiction, but it's not funny when we remember that all ages of the r&f are being manipulated by the gb by these cheap and evil means.. .

To be honest... I don’t know how this organisation gets away with this.

if this was in a school or on a place where young minds can be affected there would be an uprising of parents demanding an explanation!

Witnesses won’t let their children watch films that are less harmful than these pics but nonetheless young children are brought up seeing war images and destruction on a regular basis, specially inside a place where they should be worshiping the god of love and truthfulness.

Just because this comes from the watchtower....they allow it. Little do they realise that these are moulding and damaging their children.

Not mentioning the guilt, the anger, being afraid, not be able to feel worthy of love, or sometimes living.

Scared of the end of the world, scared of losing everything they know, scared of being themselves, scared of being honest. And guilt of the simplest things. 😔

A web of things that can lead to so many problems later on.

How it will end for the believers

today, many signs have been fulfilled showing that we are in the end times and much has been said in regards to armageddon, tribulation... etc but little in regards to what happens to those who believe and what transitions them to be free and escape from all that to the final destination.

this is my focus and message is based on that.in creation, there were two trees at the centre of the garden of eden and we are familiar with what happened;man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and then we are familiar with the ramifications afterwards.

now through jesus christ, the events that will lead to the end for those who believe are in 3 stages1.knowledge will be increased (daniel 12:4)there will be a transition, knowledge will transition from that of the tree of knowledge of good and evil to also include knowledge of the tree of life and this brings with it a transformation that will bring in the second phase2.healingthe knowledge/belief/faith will bring about spiritual transformational healing, also practical knowledge i.e.

Need Help fleeing my country

don't be startled by the title of this thread.

heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts.. in planning for my escape from the borg, i've come to the sad realization that the best thing for me to do considering factors like: breaking my parents and siblings hearts, lack of support groups, lack of counseling groups for cult survivors, and the prospect of finding a mate who shares my secular views on life, i've come to the realization that i need to leave my country and even my continent africa.

i know i sound desperate, but what can a brother do when all he can do is cry out for help or die in silence.

fleeing your country will not be an easy thing to do. From building new connections, to getting the right job , to housing, to country rules and customs to getting used to the weather.

maybe you can move away from your area first and see how it goes.

taking a drastic decision like that has its repercussions too.

religious persecution it’s not normally associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses, so that’s a dead end.

in my opinion if you still feel that you need to leave for whatever reason you need to, then you must sit and plan your life first. A legal plan though. If you have skills then look at countries that need those.

Leaving everything that you ever known behind is a gut wrenching feeling that will follow you for sometime. And if you would be leaving wouldn’t you be away from your family anyway? So your relationship would be almost non existent, like if you left the jws (not the same but very similar) specially if you are in Africa and flights can be expensive to the countries you’ve mentioned.

Is this something your family could do often? Go and visit you?

I understand that you are still young, so explore all avenues before committing to something that can turnout much harder than it looks.

cart witnesses

i drove through a nearby seaside town today.

it was starting to rain.

I saw some too.

Today on my local town, standing next to the cart two young man. Not normally on a Friday and not normally young men, many times I see two “sisters” there.

Well dressed, smiling and talking to each other while keeping an eye out, but not approaching anyone.

Firstly I thought, gosh it’s so cold out... why are you even here?! And if you’re not talking to anyone... how can you be preaching? I don’t get it.... you’re not saving anyone from the blooming-gedon.

Then I looked at the cart and at them, and I just thought... I hope you have day jobs to save you one day.

could not but just feel some pity to see them just there counting hours for nothing. So silly.
