I remember growing up in the truth in the 70s, then the 80s, i was quite young, full of hope, dreams and beliefs that it was a wonderful organization of Jehovah's witnesses....
Soon we would discover the world is not sun shines and rainbows in the JWs...
For my brother, David, it was more or less the same, he was full of zeal pioneering.
Then one day, the truth exploded, the teacher much older than my bro, was unmasked, the circus began...
Elders came rushing in, things went swiftly, only one way, the abuser used the Bible to justify sexual intercourse with my brother while he was only 14...and things lasted for many months....
My Brother left the truth, but the pedophile though disfellowshipped was welcomed back in less than 2 months !
All the scandal was hidden, no one came back to bring any help to my brother, they simply ignore him like he was the one responsible of all, no comfort, no care, this is like this.
I don't know why i m still in... somehow, I think i have enough, not because i have heard too much, but because i have seen with my own eyes, all the things that they do inside, the manipulation, the pressure...
Bible is pure, but this... this has nothing to do with the teaching of Jesus. They pretend they are pure and white, but really, they are just men, doing bad like anywhere else. The worst part, they don't take care of the ones suffering, and they only makes things worse with their stupid policies.

BRANCH OVERSEER : "Apostates are GOOD people !"
by Aleph inthis is quite incredible.during his talk, the branch overseer, made a special talk dedicated to the apostates.. he clearly emphasis his point, "apostates used to be between us, really you can talk with apostates, those people are good, of course their point of vue is different than ours now but they are mostly very nice poeple, and you shouldn't be afraid to talk with them.
"though as usual, the reaction of the brothers was quite the same, impassive, i was very surprise by this statement.i cannot assume if this is just a one man step ahead towards the apostates, or really a change in their policies, this came from the mouth of a branch overseer.of course, for obvious reason, i won't give the name of the brother, which is famous, but only here in an central european country.i would have expected him to quote more scriptures, but he didn't, he could have use the one for jesus himself :"you should love your enemies", as apostates were really the "enemies" for the wtbs for such a long time, maybe now that the king of the north is awaken, apostates are not so bad after all ?

Actually is right with a wrong explanation, let me explain, then feel free to comment.
Jewish calendar is not lunar but It is both lunar and solar as Gen 1:14 states :
Then God said: “Let there be luminaries*+ in the expanse of the heavens to make a division between the day and the night,+ and they will serve as signs for seasons and for days and years.
They(jews) counted 360 days a year but adding the extra month as explained in blondie's comment above.
Please take note in this verse that the sun and the moon serve not only as to determine the days, and years, but also seasons and signs.
This prophecy (the 2520 years) is highly important, you can accept or refuse its explanations.
Please consider too the "day of Jehovah", which is related also to "time" and "seasons" 2 Thess 5: 1 3.Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers, you need nothing to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know very well that Jehovah’s* day+ is coming exactly as a thief in the night.+ 3 Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them,+ just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape.
If you are sincere with bible text consider attentively each word, as highly important.
Nobody knows the date or the hour, but from revelation verse we know it won't surprise the anointed.
Don't serve men, or for a date, but Jehovah for He deserve the adoration as our Grand Creator.
Last thing, Jw are not inspired but guided, meaning they made mistakes, and still do, so be sincere, and go back always to check what Bible tells. In my humble opinion they tell the truth, they could be wrong and fell 7 times, we need to forgive them.... we are all humans, we all do mistakes.Aleph

Overlapping generation pushed me to the brink

F W Frantz was literally yelling in his talk that 1975 will be the end, what a mistake !
Now whatever what men say, anointed or not, in my humble opinion...
- No one knows the day or the hour.
- The generation in Bible is always linked to people born in a certain period time when they share the living of same things together...
- Whether the GB was right or wrong, it doesn't change a thing, if you believe it will come stick to what you believe...
- Even if it s "delayed" keep waiting for it as said Habakkuk, it won't be "late"...
- Ultimately serve God, not humans...so you won t be deceived.
