  have anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?

  its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .

  if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

  Unfortunately, the WT$ has ALWAYS had this cavilier attitude about domestic violence. Years ago when I was desperately looking through the WT$ indexes to find info to help me decide whether or not to divorce my ex- husband,. I found the same council and "encouragement". One sister was held up as a great example because she endured REPETED BEATINGS and being LOCKED OUT of HER HOUSE in HER UNDERWEAR ALL NIGHT for YEARS!!!!!!! What "good" JW wife doesn't want to make God happy by her "endurance and long suffering". So I too,went along with the cult mindset. Bastard$

  Quarterback: "I and they don't care about that crazy WT article" Really? My nearly 60 years as a true believer has taught me that the WT is taken as seriously by "true Christians" as the Bible. Even when shown a particular WT statement made conflicts with scripture, most witnesses (myself included when I believed) will side with the WT. I'm assuming you are still in. Understandably then, the subject of JW's spying or leaking confidential info would make you nervous. Of course not all witnesses break the trust they are given. But it is shortsighted to think 7mil dedicated believers don't care or obey what the WT says.

  i spoke to my mother yesterday.

  it had been about two weeks and i felt she was due for a call.

  mother informed me again that my sister was coming for a visit (she's flying in sunday) but she would only be here until friday.

  MsJ, Sorry your Mom/family gives you so much stress. Girl, I know the feeling. I thought this thread was about JW's whos families get together for a big meal (often turkey) on Thanksgiving and refuse to call it what it actually is. My ex's(once an elder) parents would host a big shebang every year on Thanksgiving even tho Dad was the PO. We attended the years we weren't at MY huge JW familys' equally hypocratical Turkey day.

  a very reliable friend told me this: the bro was commenting on what was "unacceptable" conduct in the bedroom between married persons.

  needless to say, he had everyone's attention.

  he went on to say "we must avoid perversions such as oral and annual sex.

  Thanks everyone for sharing the stupidity! Got another one to add: The married middle aged PO in the hall we used to attend decided phone calls between members of the opposite sex were considered "dating". He gave several talks where he called it "That Devilish phone dating" Turns out within months he was disfellowshipped for porking a young married elderette w/ kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She and her family were in the SAME CONGO. The affair had been been going on at the same time as those uber-lame comments!!! They were "caught in the act" by his wife.Takes hypocracy to a new level doesn't it?

  i have been reading countless heartbreaking accounts on this site of children of jehovah's witnesses being "disfellowshipped" and shunned by entire families, their congregations, basicly everyone they have ever known for simply questioning their parent's religion!!.

  some have been tossed out of family homes to live in cars!!!

  Zid, Hahahah, You know they would forbid your lovely frock for being "immodest" (calling undue atten. to yourself as an individual) The WT$ must own stock in Wall Mart. If 7 mil people are required to wear only cheap, ugly, polyester crap 24/7 think how that would improve sales! LOL
