Can someone please help me?
by ruderedhead inhello, i'm new to posting here, although i have been reading and gaining insight for quite a while.
thank you to all of you.. i wrote a letter of disassociation this week, and sent it to the local kh.
i have been faded for a number of years, and after much research, know that the witnesses do not have the truth.

Designs, LOL Remember George Gobel on Johnny Carson when he had to follow the "rat Pack"? He used your line about feeling like a pair of brown shoes in a room full of tuxsidos and brought the house down and Jonny to tears laughing!

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs
by Lady Lee inthw wts likes to play games with their statistics.
one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

Lando, Seek help for your depression. Especially if you get any more thoughts of suicide. Anti depressants, exercise, friends, hobbies all are helpful.

Forgiving. Surely a limit even for Christians?
by punkofnice inok. so i admit i'm stumped.
i left the jws and became christian and have been going through bouts of atheism, agnostisism and back.
that isn't something i want to delve into right now.. i remember seeing on the tv how a couple had their daughter murdered and they said that as christians they forgave the killer.. eh?.

Nancy and Gary Thank you too! I didn't mean to hijack this thread. I'm trying to make the point that 1st: It's probably a moot point. Punk, you probably will never be in that position in the first place.
2nd: I want to clarify that my decision was not based upon my interpretation of Christianity. It was based on preserving my mental health. I was too fragile to make a stink at the time. The race course was dangerous(a separate issue) and my
sons father was stalking me at the time as well. So I simply couldn't bear taking on any more drama. I also had my other child to think about as well. There were many factors that made me leave the whole mess alone.
The Jesus described in the Bible is not unreasonable. Johnnie the Bethelite makes some good points about the context of Jesus words about forgivness. He also recognized Ceasers role in keeping order. Murders, rapists, etc. can and should be prosecuted. Jesus never said his followers should be doormats or tolerate abuse.
Hope this clarifys a little.
