Hello Rosesinbloom, I encourage you to keep reading here and elsewhere to determine if or when this group was ever selected by God. (thus becoming His people). If so then when? WHAT YEAR were they accurately teaching the truth? If they were in the past then why did they change? If they weren't, why would the holy spirit impart false information needing to be continually corrected? Or have you been fooled for many years like I was?

This is such an interesting thread. It's looking to me like it isn't as relavent how old a person was when he/she left but rather how long ago they left. The more crazy the cult has become and the more available the info is to the masses (internet etc.) the more are leaving. Hubby and I are both 3rd gen baptized at 13 and 12 respectively in the 60's. We didn't leave until discovering TTaTT in the last couple of years. We were almost 60. We are the ONLY ones in our families who have left. Either they never joined in the first place (distant cousins) or are still in or dead. FYI, we are no longer invited to family reunions.

Hortensia, Hi! Actually, hubby's family that I know are on this forum joined long before we did. One cousin admitted to him that they had lots of questions and doubts and joined Jwn. At the time we thought this cousin had "Apostate" leanings and shrugged it off. Later when an innocent question about the Menlo Park KH situation led us to this site -we were out within 2 weeks. Yet the family reads here regularly and still believes (or so they say) and try to make trouble for us. Go figure. The truth is they don't want to give up the statis of being in a family dynasty of Borgians. Kinda like being King of the shit pile.

I hate to disagree with Alphaman but....The religion has been in the crapper since it's beginning but took a dive to the sewer when Rutherford took over. If you read WT literature and listen to old timers whose parent's beliefs, attitudes and behavior were shaped by him you would think things actually IMPROVED as time went on. IMO it wasn't until Ray Franz was removed that things tightened up again around 1980. This was also about the time Jaracz came into full power and influence. But remember, HE was a student of Rutherford need I say more? By the end of the 80's large gatherings, entertainment, basically fun, was no longer allowed. Throught the 90's and the new century more and more rules and regulations were implimented, no doubt to try to prevent the flock from forgetting their main jobs as slaves of the Borg. Now, because this is a different GB.2 who have witnessed the vast # of youth leaving they are making a stab at rebranding the whole religion in hopes of stopping the tide. Only time will tell if this almost unrecognizable form of JWism will fly. BTW, as a teen in the 60's I danced my butt off to Motown music at Witness parties. I could really get down! LOL. Believe me, it didn't look a thing like this lame video. Lucky for me the heirachy at Brooklyn didn't forbid music and fun until after 1975. Guess that pesky debacle made the GB boys cranky.

Handing in '' Field Service Report '' even if you're very ill.
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy mom has not been to any meetings or participated in field service since august 2013. she cannot walk due to all her medical conditions.
she is either in bed or sitting in a wheel chair.. our family hired a caretaker monday - friday to help her eat, take her to the bathroom and sit with her in case she needs anything.
in the evenings and weekends, we have family members take care of her.

IMHO, the WBT$ wants this time from the elderly and infirmed counted in order to shame the r and f into "doing more". "Sister Allsheimers gets in several hrs. a month wassamatta with you healthy ones?" Keep 'em busy so's they forget that they were't supposed to get old and infirm in the first place!

by OneDayillBeFree inlooks like the borg spent all it's money on hd panels, gigabit internet connections and ipads cause this is by far the lamest and most stupid drama ever in the history of the org!.
apart from the worse than porn-without-the-porn acting and dialogue, the special effects consist of square painted panels and a crappy blue screen.
also the lighting looks like it was made using flashlights.. even the die hards we're laughing at it and mentioned how silly it looked.. i envy all of those that aren't attending this "historic 100-years-since-christ's-reign" convention.. .

Unbelievably tragic! You can bet you won't read about that experience anywhere in Dub literature. Obviously, Jehovah dislikes African sisters with children who brave a river in a canoe just to hear the same sh!t they said last year.
