Yeah, the way the WTBT$ handles child abuse is Much better than "the world". (intended sarcasm) I wonder if that speaker would change his attitude if HIS child was a victim?

15 Years of Jehovahs-Witness.com
by Simon inyes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.
i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.
the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

This was the first scripture that hubby used to help me wake up. After quoting the familiar verse he simply asked, "Is it easier to be a Jew or a Jehovah's Witness?" Nuff said. He knew the treadmill of JWness had all but used me up. -

In our area (about 200 mi north of Sac) we had at least two inches of drought fall just in the last couple of days. We have had steady precipitation all season. I say this while sipping Pikes Place roasted and ground by Starbucks. :) -

ABCNews Nightline: Segment on JW absuse cases here......
by WingCommander inhere is the segment on the conti abuse case in california and jehovah's witness's response as reported on by the abcnews nightline broadcast which was shown early this morning.
it really displays some absolutely shocking behavior from not only her abuser and his (supportive) wife, but also the jw attorneys and elders via video.
i am just blown away by the audacity displayed by these monsters.. we can now understand why governing body member stephen lett slipped in his comments a couple of weeks ago about "untrue reports of child abuse" in one of his talks which can viewed on the cult's website.

Shirley, don't feel bad. I had no idea what that meant either until he explained it to me. The letters refer to Search Engine Optimization. Lets say someone Googles (the search engine) Jehovah's Witnesses, the first things that come up are the ones most likely to be read. The WTBT$ of course wants that to be THEIR website etc. The more something comes up on the internet the closer it gets to the first page.
So the more a story like this gets posted in the media the more likely someone else will come across it simply by typing up something pertaining to JWs. This becomes the optimization. Hope this helps.

Hubby has spent all morning sharing this powerful story by tweeting (twitter) and face book in order to increase SEO. He originally started his FB account for business and over the years grew it to 5,000 "friends".
The feedback on the PBS story was amazing. This ABC story is already causing a stir. People who have left or were DFed by WTBTS sometimes feel bad about themselves. One said, "And I thought I was bad because I smoked but THEY protect pedophiles??!!" Several others have told us about their sexual abuse by elders that they were previously too ashamed to reveal. They are sharing these reports on their FB pages as well.
I am glad the report stated that the Watchtower organization is very wealthy. Something many might not realize.

Hubby and I shared the story that aired on PBS a few weeks ago with some inactive JW's who are still mentally "in". Those who were brave enough to watch it had a strong positive reaction. Two even told hubby about their OWN sexual abuse by elders when they were young. (both elders are now dead) One in turn addressed her story and the mishandling of sexual child abuse by the WTBTS publicly on FB.

DOC, We used your exact dialogue with my MIL when she would harp on us. It always left her speechless when we would end with: "So then, who would you be loyal to in that case? The organization or Jehovah?
It had a positive effect on her to the point that she stopped regularly attending meetings and FS.

BU2B, Sorry you are another born in who only knows conditional love from his parents. I am one as well. My father died when I was still in high school. My mother then took put downs and guilt trips to an art form. She hardly spoke to her only grandchildren simply because they didn't measure up to HER standards.
I woke up after she developed dementia and had to be placed in a rest home. She is in her 90's and still mean as ever, actually worse, now she has become violent. Almost every night I have a nightmare that she is still living with us. The religion is toxic and it's people are often poisoned by it.
