  Governing Body member is in Australia right now!

  sorry i have to remain completely anonymous about this but you will see why.

  i have first hand knowledge that geoffrey jackson of the governing body is staying with his parents in toowoomba, queensland for the next few weeks.

  he has already been in australia for a couple of weeks.

  I recall a form from WTS that is to be filled out by local elder/s when a case of child abuse is handled. Question #9 was especially damning. It asked (I'm paraphrasing) Did the child behave in a way that ENCOURAGED the abuse?

  If anyone can show this form to the RC I think it would shine a bright light on the core attitude the Watchtower Society has toward victims of child abuse.

  I would like to ask GJ or any other high ranking elder, Do you believe that in certain cases the child "asked for it"? The answer would undoubtedly be "NO" Then pull out the form and ask, Is this form from HQ? Then ask, are you familiar with question #9? Then make the elder read it out loud for the entire world to hear!

  i've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.

  ( "reaching out", so to speak ).

  i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

  Wow, Treckkor, you are either very brave or very pissed! Love the pic of your wedding. I hope Mrs. Kairos can extract herself from her rabid JW family and slowly learn TTATT.

  Would she be open to taking a vacation? She needs to get away from all this BS. Sounds like a trip to one of the many awesome spas in your area might be the best gift you could give her right now.

  Those Mormon boys had a strong impact on the two pious-neers whether they admit it now or not. They can never un-hear the PEW report or the other info. If these boys ever experience doubts or unfair treatment, the points that were made will come flooding back.

  I still remember a couple of arguments I lost in FS 40 years ago! Thanks for sharing.

  this isnt particularly a jw question but if anyone knows the world of shunning it would be ex-jws.

  i have a friend who about three years ago had an abortion and i havent been too friendly with since that happened.

  i havent said anything or done anything rude to her.

  Clambake, as a woman who suffered almost 13 years of infertility, I understand your frustration and resentment of someone who didn't want her baby but didn't give it to a couple who desperately did. Unless a couple has experienced this emotional hell there is no way to adequately explain what it entails. Unless a couple travels every avenue they can afford to become parents only to be told there are no babies available to you due to the blood issue, unless you attempt private adoption, fall in love with the baby girl only to have the mother change her mind, there is no way to describe the agony.

  I DO get it and I am delighted your wife is pregnant now. I wish your growing family the best.

  Can a video involving a christien having sex be viewed and used by elders?

  lets say someone has a sexual encounter and a third party video taps it.

  in canada, it would be illegal for the one that taped the video to show it to the elders as this would be "invasion of privacy".

  what i am wondering however is if any legal action can be done against the elders and the wt if they view this video and take it into account in a judicial comity.

  I have a relative whose wife told the elders he was physically abusing her. They wanted to meet with him. He wanted to prove his innocence and show that actually it was HER who was abusive so he videotaped several episodes of her fits of rage.

  His elders (California) flatly refused to even look at the tapes. Legal must have told them that there must be consent to be taped and consent for said tape to be viewed by others.

  Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?

  a poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.

  break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.

  the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

  LisaRose asked if they shortened the meeting by 15 min. or fill in with "more meeting". As far as I can remember the attempt was to keep the meeting to two hours but at first HQ was not clear that the 2 hours INCLUDED the songs and prayers which often added as much as 10-20min.

  I remember my FIL at the time was the WT conductor. He would get steamed if the public speaker went overtime bc it meant he would have to shorten the WT study-sometimes dispensing with reading some of the paragraphs. Which reminds me, were read AFTER the QandAs. Can't remember when it was changed to reading the paragraphs before. He sometimes and told the cong that "We will have to move on to the next paragraph (without reading) because our study has been cut short. (By the speaker). LOL

  Why hasn’t someone gotten real pissed off yet?

  i keep reading of some guy who is so upset at someone that he goes into a theater and shoots 20 people..

  or a kid that is so mad that the other kids made fun of him that he goes to school and shoots a bunch of kids..

  or some guy that was fired from his job and he goes back and shoots of bunch of his workers.

  DD and Bonsai I agree, however, I do know one DFed nut job who left threatening messages to the elders and stalked the meetings to the point where the police issued a restraining order. There is no doubt in my mind that if left unchecked he could have gone postal.

  Nuts are found in every walk of life. Just because someone leaves a cult doesn't always mean he/she is is not STILL a nut.
