a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.
i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.
RespectfulO, you took the words right out of my mouth. Watchtower would rather close up shop in India than perform any legitimate charitable works.
Besides, I doubt even if India still allowed foreign money in to help, the WTBT$ would rather use their donations to enlarge the swimming pool and tennis courts at Warwick than distribute their supposedly lifesaving message to a largely impoverished county. (not enough potential return on their investment.)

wife is not hardcore but we still bump heads from time to time.
if it wasn't for this cult, and while it was not an issue, we had an almost perfect marriage.
I may not be understanding the whole picture here but I see her willingness to accompany you to therapy and "agreeing to disagree" as great. I don't know what more you could ask of a believing born in with friends and family still in.
I am not sure of what you expected the therapist to say at her first session with your wife. Usually there is only time for the therapist to listen to the story and get a feel for the person and the situation.
My advice would be to hold to your decision to fade. At this point back off trying to convince her of TTATT. Offer her extra love, attention, and FUN. If and only IF she gives you a hard time about leaving remind her of her words to the therapist where she agreed to disagree. Then......
Accept her right to believe and ENJOY the rest of your life!

One example is a long time JW friend of ours who has had doubts about the Borg for years but has clung to it nevertheless. Hubby and I have said all we could think of to help him reason and wake up with little or no effect. Enter TM3 last year, then ARC. The Governing Idiots and Liars by their own words convinced him there is NO Holy spirit anywhere near these guys. He now believes TTATT and is in the process of a fade. :)
a non-witness insider told me this week that the wts has financial problems.
that lead to halting down their building plans and lay off the special pioneers and.
bethelites.. the reason of the financial stagnation is beside some bad investments,.
I recently posed a hypothetical question to hubby. "What would you do if you learned TTATT and were a career Bethelite?" "What if you were in the inner circle of trust?" We both decided if we had any access to WT money it would be tempting to pay ourselves back for our long service. (embezzle and form a phony account overseas) If that were not feasible we would stay at Bethel as long as we could and work against WT interests as much as possible without being caught. Leaking confidential info being a top priority.
Who can be sure a few others are not doing these very things?

I would like to comment on #16 because it is the only question for which have a radically different opinion.
My father and grandmother personally knew JFR. Father was a close associate and occasional traveling companion of Knoor. He spent less time with Franz. Mom was baptized in Seattle 1937 alongside Max Larson who took her out on a date later that night. He made it clear to her on the boat ride he's not gay.
Hubby spent over a year at Bethel as the main Chef. He brought specially prepared dishes to the private rooms of Franz and others at the top. He spent time observing Dave Mercanti (sp?) Franz's virtual lifelong "assistant". Hubby is 99.99% sure they prefer same sex. The bigger question is were/are they practicing or NON practicing? Who knows? Who cares? Wait.......
Ordinarily it's indeed nobody's business except that I (for one) would expect the attitudes and policies of the organization to reflect the leadership at the top and visa versa. Hypocrisy anyone?

i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !
i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?
listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.

we just had an elder drop by and invite my wife to the kh with a 21 day old baby.. i thought it was kind of classless.
so, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.
real friendships aren't conditional.".
i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.
I spent this past weekend with my daughters closest friends who are in their thirty's. After finding out it was my first Halloween and why, they all wanted to know what triggered such a drastic change in me and my life.
Of course, they didn't want or need the long answer so I really had to think on my feet. I said there were many many factors but the first brick in the wall to fall was how my second husband and I were treated by the congregation when we married 16 years ago. He was an elder and I was exemplary but there was no bridal shower no party not even a greeting card. I explained that we were all but shunned by our "friends" but had no clue why. Years later i found out my scripturally divorced apostate DFed ex called the elders and told them he had been sleeping with me and I was not free to remarry. I told daughter's friends that not one of my so-called friends bothered to ask ME if the rumors were true.
Her friend's reply was "What conditional friends!" I agreed not wanting to split hairs. In the context of our discussion they were right. Yet I completely agree there are deal- breakers for most any relationship.
