Do you remember this?
by Gorbatchov inwhen g. was a litle kid, remembering the watchtower study at age 9, hearing all the stuff, the paragraph, the questions, the answers, about topics i could not understand, so it became so abstract that it was not entering my ears and brains.
it felt that i was no part of the group, someone alone on a distant planet.. do you remember this feeling?.

Yup, I remember being bored out of my mind yet, certain words and phrases would make me curious. Like the time I was about 5 or 6 asking, "Mom, what is heavy petting?"

Family is now reaping what they sowed and they don't like it.
by Gemmel ini resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.
one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.
i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

In response to those who wonder if we have or intend to sue WTBT$ for the last loan the answer is No for these reasons:
At the time of her need, we were still believers who wouldn't dream of suing as it would mean certain DFing.(You know, a fate worse than death in our minds.) However, their callous disregard for a faithful widowed, sister who had foolishly given them more than she could spare helped wake hubby and me up!!! HUGE PAYOFF
Once we were out of Watchtower we had a legal consultation and found out that the cost of the lawsuit would likely be as much as we could prove they owed her.

Count me in as one who agrees with your decision to stay away from these toxic people- including your mother. FWIW: My experience was a little different yet may be helpful in this discussion.
Hubby and I are both only children. My when the time came that my mother needed care we were still active JWs. We went into deep debt in order to purchase a house that would be suitable for her needs.( Extra bedroom, wheelchair friendly, etc.)
She was an absolute ungrateful bit#h in every way and to top it off had dementia. She was impossible to live with. After a while, she declared that she didn't want to be cared for by us anymore! Goody! We put her in a nice rest home where her two brothers lived. The problem? It is expensive. She had squandered her multi-million dollar inheritance and was broke. So we paid for her care until we ourselves had to go bankrupt!
At this point, hubby, who was an ex Bethelite and knew some big wigs personally, wrote HQ a lovely letter explaining that Mom had been a faithful JW since she was baptized in 1937 at the same Seattle convention as WBTS president Max Larson. That she had been on a first name basis with Ted Jaracz, and over the years, her family had outright DONATED 7 figures of CASH to the WBTS. In addition, she had given a conditional LOAN from the LAST of her money. (he provided a copy of the loan on WT letterhead.doc
All we were asking for was for WTBTS to REPAY THE LAST MONEY SHE LOANED THEM.
He wrote 3 letters with NO response so he called the desk asking if the letters had been received. The answer was: Yes, they received them. BUT she had (in her demented state) verbally "forgiven the loan" "Put her on welfare" We were forced to do just that.
When she finally died, nobody told me until a week later. (we had left Watchtower and were being shunned by our ENTIRE extended families even though we weren't Dfed or DAed. When hubby asked the lady at the funeral home "Why didn't anyone tell my wife that her mother died?" Her response was, "The ladies from her church said she had NO children." (I personally knew most of the congregation)
Moral of the story: The GB are assholes. Their policies are greedy and self-serving. They produce followers just like them. They are Toxic as a whole. If you are dead to them they should be the same to you. Being a martyr teaches them NOTHING. Stay away from poison.

Generally speaking, I agree with Morph's comment. But the exception that proves the rule is Oakland Raiders, Steve Sweeney. He was a phenom in college and hit the big money when he was drafted to the championship team. But had the misfortune to study with JW's his first year as pro. They convinced him to get on the Theresa Graves bandwagon and quit. He "took the council" and was in my in-laws' congregation. Guess what year? Wait for it...1974.
Wonder how he feels now about his life course. Prince, Larry, George et all? Hope he saved for retirement. LOL

This asshole better not cross MY path.
My 21 yo son was in a motocross race where he attempted to pass the leader. The more experienced leader forced my son into a tree where he crashed and died. For his family's sake, I am glad this rider was not injured or worse!

Unsung Movie Villains
by LoveUniHateExams inwe all know the big movie villains get a lot of credit and appear in multiple movies - the shark in jaws, darth vader, and before them dracula, wolfman, frankenstein's monster, etc.. but there must be plenty of villains that get forgotten.. i thought clarence boddicker (played by kurtwood smith) was fantastic in robocop (1987) - a real psychopath.. another character who springs to mind is vilos cohaagen (ronny cox) in total recall (1990), i thought he was very good too.. obviously these and other movie villains do get some critical acclaim but they don't get their own franchise and they rarely get universal praise.. maybe 'unsung movie villains' is the wrong phrase but hopefully you get what i'm trying to say!
xd.

Ok, I'm dating myself but.... Jessica Walter in 1971 " Play Misty for Me" It Was obviously an inspiration for the character Glen Close played in the 1987 "Fatal Attraction".
Both women played their parts to perfection!

Why not extend your child's life and take the consequences?
by I_love_Jeff injehovah's witnesses & blood transfusions.
if your son or daughter were badly burned, he or she would require regular whole blood transfusions.
as a good jehovah's witness, it is your duty to refuse this procedure and watch your child die instead.

This doctrine of Watchtower that I described above is why JW parents can't give in to their natural love for their children. DFing Isn't the point. The point is that accepting blood condemns your child to destruction even if blood "temporarily" saves his life. What the hell???
I can't make this sh!t up. Another way Watchtower emotionally destroys its true believers.
