The Evil Masterminds Behind COVID-19: Charmin and Cottonelle
by keyser soze inof all the things people decided they needed to stockpile for a potential quarantine.
all of the stores around my area ran completely out of toilet paper this last weekend.
people were piling it into their carts and vehicles as if they were going to be holed up for a year.

I tried to buy toilet paper 3 days ago and found there wasn't even a small package - at ANY price. When I told Hubby he asked, "Do we have any old Watchtowers or Awakes laying around somewhere?" After I finished laughing, I said, "Sorry, No".

The attempt by Watchtower is to keep its followers isolated and ignorant. This is accomplished by requiring busywork and indoctrination sessions as well as demonizing secular association, reading, and higher education.
No wonder that when a person leaves JWs they often have stunted social skills and limited decision-making ability.
When we left I was a 60-year-old with the "worldly" experience of an 18- year-old. I'm still trying to "grow up" yet I often find myself doing things to nurture the little girl that was physically abused and forced to behave like a mini-adult.

What is the longest distance you drove to attend a summer Convention?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhere is a photo of the milwaukee brewers ( american baseball team) county stadium.
for some reason, we were assigned this outdoor stadium for our 1975 four-day summer convention.
our congregation was located 90 miles away on the north side of chicago.. some congregation members stayed at milwaukee hotels for the four-day convention.

Sorry, Postate, it is 3,001 miles one way from Monterey to NYC. But we were ALL LOSERS stuck with parents who were religious fanatics.

LV101, I was there in 1969. Is that the one you were referring to? At that time I lived in Pleasant Hill Ca. About 5-6 hours.
Blondie, My family and I went to The Rose Bowl in '63 also. I was a freckle-faced girl of 11. It was so hot, one day my aunt fainted.

New Boy, My family drove from Monterey Ca. to NYC in 1958. It was an International convention that lasted a MISERABLE 8 days. The only DC in the USA that year. Yankee Stadium and Polo Grounds had almost 254,000 on the last day. I was only 6 but I have vivid memories.

My father, his mother, and my son.
Why? I never met my grandmother. She died before I was born. I would like to ask her what attracted her to the teachings of Pastor Russel. That would be interesting.
My father died when I was still a snotty teenager. I understand him so much better now and would like to have a cocktail and an adult conversation with him.
I would give anything to have just one more day with my son. He would be nearly 37 years old now. I would love to introduce him to my father.
Four generations that barely overlapped. One gone 70 years ago one gone 50 years ago and one gone 15 years ago. Imagine their reactions to the JW.Borg changes!

Carla, What if this "spiritual couple" was invited to Bethel and he got promoted to GB 3.0 and THEN it came out that "she" was a "he" and the husband, of course, knew and concealed it all along. Hahaha
