The Governing Body Are Vicars
by metatron inif salvation is not possible except thru the governing body, however qualified that idea might be, it still would make them agents, substitutes, or 'stand ins' acting for god/christ.. by definition, they have declared themselves to be vicars.
collectively, they have adopted a title - "faithful slave' - no different from christendom/jews doing so, with 'father', reverend, rabbi or so on.. wrong if one person does it?
is it wrong for two?

These two clips from the movie 'The Matrix' represent for me two parts of my life out of the WT organization. The first took place over twelve years ago when I realised that my life (from childhood up) had been based on an illusion; it was for me quite a difficult thing to deal with. The second clip represents me now in my deprogrammed state, where the WT organization has absolutely no power over me. I feel sure that many here feel the same way.

'THE MATRIX' AND 'THE VILLAGE'
Elsewhere someone created a thread concerning the novels '1984' and 'Animal Farm' as being relevant to the WTS. I would also like to add a thread to draw suggestions for movies.
I'll start the ball rolling with my own two movies that I think really fit the bill: 'The Matrix' and 'The Village'. I think each has its own important message to say about living in an illusory world controlled by others. Most people have seen 'The Matrix', but I thoroughly encourage those who haven't seen it to watch 'The Village' [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Village_(2004_film)] as it really shows how religious leaders can dupe so many people into staying where they are through fear - although this has been described as a horror movie, don't let this put you off as there is no gratuitous blood-letting but rather an uncomfortable air of tension and imminent unknown danger like that in Hitchcock's films. -

WT Society Changes Definitions of Words to Control JW's for Their Agenda
by flipper inmy wife and i were discussing this and thought of a few examples of words that the wt society changes meanings on in order to accomplish their own self serving agenda .
the term - generation - definition in webster's new world dictionary : " generation - a single stage or degree in the succession of natural descent ( father, son, and grandson are three generations ) .
the average period ( about thirty years ) between the birth of one generation and that of the next .

Interesting and important thread flipper. It may be somewhat amusing, but the fact of the matter is that the WTS does appear to have its own "Ministry of Truth" (see the novel '1984').

I haven't posted here for a long time (needed a rest!), but I felt inclined to do express my thoughts on the 'new light'.
