Need Help fleeing my country
by saorean indon't be startled by the title of this thread.
heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts.. in planning for my escape from the borg, i've come to the sad realization that the best thing for me to do considering factors like: breaking my parents and siblings hearts, lack of support groups, lack of counseling groups for cult survivors, and the prospect of finding a mate who shares my secular views on life, i've come to the realization that i need to leave my country and even my continent africa.
i know i sound desperate, but what can a brother do when all he can do is cry out for help or die in silence.

Dozy: I appreciate your feedback. There's a Chinese proverb that says hearing about something a thousand times is not the same with living it once.
I appreciate your concerns, I know they come from a place of love. But I have to be pragmatic and tell you things as they really are.
News of my awakening will most probably kill off my parents and lead to severe persecution from my siblings. I cannot in good conscience put them through that, as I also cannot keep living a lie. Family bonds here run skin deep. My parents at their age will never consider logic and rationality when taking the news of my resignation as an overseer and eventual fade or disassociation.
Forums are important and play a significant role in recovery from a cult, but it doesn't replace human interaction as you would agree.
Being in a country steeped in religion where religion affects where you work, how services are delivered to you, and how you raise your kids, it will be living a lie and a big disservice to myself if I don't take proactive steps to negate the brewing conditions soon to come.
About tax and living conditions, I've counted the cost. I will survive, I've lived through worse.
Stan livedeath : I get your point. Thanks bro

Stan livedeath : I appreciate your response. Love is a delicate thing, and as one with a sensitive conscience, I want to be very careful about what my true intentions are for entering such union.
Obviously if I find love anywhere around the world, I'm all for it. I'm open to dating across board, if you have recommendations as to sites or people in the UK, by all means introduce me.
But if there are other ways I'll be most grateful, if you can help me find out.
Thanks

Hello there,
Don't be startled by the title of this thread.
Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts.
Fortunately for me, I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree.
I'm young and highly motivated. I need to cut my loss for the years of my life I've wasted in the borg, and build a career.
America, Canada, Europe, Australia anywhere far away.
N. B: I will pay for the VISA process and flight ticket. I have my own savings to live on, so I won't be a burden.
ALL I NEED is someone to get me a job over there, which will enable me process my visa in my home country.
Or send me an invitation.
Or any other way which I may not have thought of.
I know I'll have to answer questions, I'll be glad to answers in PM so as not to blow my cover for now.

Ronin: I'm from there
Smiddy3 : nope I've not read that yet. But I do know that the phrase "captives of a concept" was mentioned in Crises of conscience by Ray Franz.
Now, that you've mentioned it, I'll be sure to check it out.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the warm welcome.
It's gonna be a long read.
I'm still getting a hang of this forum so in time I'll be able to quote each individual comment for now. For now I will have to give general responses and answers to questions posed.
Giordano: your expressions definitely capture my sentiments. In recent times, the biggest crises I've had is climbing the platform to give talks on teachings that I know to be FALSE. It's been a tog of war for my conscience. For now, I've tried to dodge assignments and give excuses as much as I can without raising a flag.
Giordano you really did go the mile in reeling out a lot of facts. All the facts you mentioned I've researched and even more. I'm not one to act on impulse. Like I said earlier, I'm an elder albeit young. I'm what you may normally call a JW nerd. I'm that guy his peers outside the borg hates, and even those within the borg hate because I make them look bad. 😊
That's how deep I'm in. I've made research for over a year, read almost all the books written by ex-jws, done independent research on the net on each of the major doctrine of the borg. I would have loved to share what things motivated me to start my independent research. But if I do that, that will give me away as a lot of context is involved. I'll do that once I'm out of the borg which is soon.
So believe me when I tell you I already have enough rational motivation to leave the borg.
- For those asking if the work is growing as the borg claims.
Well, I'll say the answer to that question is relative. As you may know, Africa is a very large continent with 54 Countries. So each country has it's peculiarities. There are countries where Islam is the only religion. In such countries, no one dares go preach there, as it's steeped in extremism and terrorism.
In some countries, it's mixed. In those countries, depending on the culture and the economical situation, there are some who listens; The poorer the region (even within a country) the more receptive they are.
Then there are majorly christian nations. Even these nations present a challenge as most of them will not change the religion of their birth for another. Especially one that their pastors have warned them against.
If you want to really see the evidence that religion is a Racket and a snare, come to Africa. It's kept the continent back.
(The Europeans, Americans and Arabs really did a 360 on us).
- As for the question about building of kingdom halls,
I can only speak for my region. From the last meeting we held with and LDC member in 2018, it was hammered into our ears that the borg needs more lands for K. Halls.
Vanderhoven7: a very destructive cult indeed. But I'm thankful that I'm free. For me the most important freedom is mental. Have that and the physical will be a walk in the park.
Thanks guys.

Dozy: You don't need to apologize. 😊 I will always appreciate invaluable inputs from middle aged folks and senior citizens.
Stan livedeath : thanks. That means I'm in the right place then 😊

Hello there,
This is the first of many posts from me. I'm PIMO, an overseer, somewhere in Africa. I'll hold of giving further details until I've executed my plan to leave the organization.
I really feel people in Europe and America have it better when it comes to support groups. Because of the poverty and hope seeking of many in Africa, the organization is using the perfect sales pitch to sell hope. How much of their work is successful is determined by a lot of factors. For example, poorer areas with no social amenities and education usually experience growth, while affluent and informed folks see through their B. S.
So far, from my perusal of different threads, I've noticed more middle aged and older people.
Is it that there are no young brothers or sisters who are below 30 here? I ask because seeing that leaving the borg will leave me friendless, I look forward to build a new circle of friends who love unconditionally.
Looking forward to creating memories here.
Nice to be here. 😊

California Fires-Contact from elders
by SouthCentral inthe fires have been hitting many areas of los angeles lately.
recently, i checked my home voicemail and noticed messages from several elders.
they were calling everyone on their “books” to ensure that they were ok.. i assume this is the protocol for a natural disaster.

I sympathize for those in Carlifonia. However, I'm still trying to get a hang of this platform 😀
What I'm trying to say is how do I quote previous comments?
