Our town just got hit by terrorists!!!!!!!!!!
by MrMoe inmy boss just called on a cell phone - he went to arby's for lunch and 3 people of arabic decent ran in an threw some sort of chemical on the floor and ran out.
us 41 was closed and he is being quarantined.
i am worried - hope he is ok. hopefully this is a fluke, but i just don't know.

Supplementary meeting: synopsis
by Moxy inthe meetings were held in michigan (bibleexaminer), long island (nytelecom), san diego (elder families only), and here in toronto.. the stadium we used is the same we normally use for district conventions.
unlike the dc tho, which is spread over 2 weekends at the stadium, it was packed absolutely full.
it was very hard to find seats anywhere, just a few singles here and there and lots standing in the halls.

i mentioned that i had serious concerns about this recent news.
i noticed that in both instances in my speaking with these individuals they tend to use the reasoning that even if the society really is involved with the un that there must be a good reason for it.

i was wondering when the hell samuel herd was going to shut up.. blab blab blab.... aren't we wonderful, oh we are so wonderful.. about the only thing that was said that i could see as being something which the gb would see as touchy enough to warant the multiple announcements for " no tape recorders, no video recorders and no computer note taking" would be the statement by herd that there's "going to be a lot off killing, billions will die ....in swift fashion".
and the other gb (fill in the name) who talked about being in the new world "in two hundred years".... wow.. that's leaving enough prophetic lee-way for the gb heirs to the thrones.. much emphasis was placed on the "...two roads to the new system ...the high road and the low road".

discussion of the new years text..from matthew..something or other
something about a yoke...something about coming for refreshment..then we went into a series of experiences from people who went
conventions in france in italy...you know..stuff like
"I have never seen so many modestly dressed woman in one area"
actually this was the most of it...just experiences.stand outs were the last two parts..the first of these
given by br. losch...the need for christians to be courageous in spite of opposition...and as you may be dissapointed...no mention was made of apostates..and he continued to denounce the U.N..Br. Barr gave the final part..by this time many in the audience were asleep..he continued with the experiences from around the world..
nassau coliseum was packed out...there were people sitting in the hallways becuase there werent that many vacant seat in the coliseum.

supplemental...........I have a feeling many of the
antis are drooling at the mouth waiting for any info that
they could pounce on...........it was nothing..just encouraging experiences from around the world......i was asleep a good 2 hours into it..and there was a way many of you could have heard it....i just wont say how -

What was he talking about when he mentioned this? Was he talking about the big A? If so, why would any of us need to worry abut this if it is 200 years off? And could you explain the 200 year thing better? Was he really saying that the end was 200 years off? Or was he just waffling so that most would not understand that is what he meant? I can't even imagine that if clearly stated that the end was that far off, that it didn't hit the JW brains there like a ton of bricks!! For all our lives and our parents lives, we have heard that the end is "near". We never expected to get into the 21st century! NOW it is 200 years away?! This type of talk would create another mass exit from JWdom like it did in the late 70's over the end supposedly ending in 1975. But maybe the Organization needs another "cleansing" with the wheat being cleaned of the shaft again? If this 200 year thing was said directly maybe that is why so many left early at the Silverdome in Michagan. They couldn't get out fast enough, showing there disgust.

Pepper Spray
by mikepence inafter considering purchasing a handgun for self protection, our family decided that pepper spray would be a safer, effective, solution.. so, i went out and bought some today.. i wonder how many jw's realize that if an elder finds out that you bought pepper spray for self-defense (even against animals!
) that you would be counselled by the elders?.
i remember an elder telling me about this being in a letter to elders.
