KO is a good investment, just look at it's long history, it is NOT going to go out of business, its' product keeps up with inflation meaning your dividend will go up as inflation goes up. Now I want to compare that to this upstart company that makes 5 Hour Energy. This is a fad. They put a lot of money into ads to make you think is as common as drinking a cup of coffee. Safe or not, people do not crave a 2oz sip of 5 Hour Energy, or would they drink it with a meal or when they are thirsty. But people do crave Coke and coffee.

Coca Cola Death? Should i sell my KO stock?
by skeeter1 incoroner says coca-cola addiction responsible for womans death neetzan zimmerman .
when 30-year-old natasha harris of invercargill, new zealand, died of a heart attack three years ago, her family suspected the cause of death was linked to her extreme fondness for coca-cola.. drinking as much as 10 litres (2.5 gallons) a day left the mother of eight with myriad health problems, including cardiac arrhythmia, rotten teeth, and a full-blown addiction.. "(she would) go crazy if she ran out... she would get the shakes, withdrawal symptoms, be angry, on edge and snappy," harris's mother-in-law said last year.. harris's husband, christopher hodgkinson, recalled how his wife's health quickly deteriorated in the months prior to her death.
"she had no energy and was feeling sick all the time ... she would get up and vomit in the morning," he said.. coca-cola has persistently maintained that, despite her daily consumption of twice the recommended caffeine intake and over 11 times the acceptable amount of sugar, harris's death could not be definitively linked to her coke habit.. but a coroner report released today claims to have done just that.. wrote coroner david crerar: "i find that, when all of the available evidence is considered, were it not for the consumption of very large quantities of coke by natasha harris, it is unlikely that she would have died when she died and how she died.".

I am so sorry to hear you have this printing company stand between you and your mother. My story is all over this board and I have received so much support from the folks here as I took care of my JW mom in my own home for 8 years. BUT this is your story; It is a very delicate balance that YOU have to walk. THEY can do whatever pleases them at the moment knowing that either is acceptable depending on THEIR need. May I suggest a scripture? It is one my non-JW Father repeated to me over and over.
"The Ten Commandments state you have to HONOR your parents, did not say you have to love them". With this armor, and this armor alone I did what my mind was telling me what was right, even while my heart was saying I was being used and abused. God rewarded me 10 fold. I was able to being with my mom as an adult not dependent on her and not afraid her like I was as a child. Oh she was a stubbern one, I actually went to the elders over her secretly preaching to my 12 year old when my back was turned and asked them to put the fear of DF her if she talked religion in my house again. They DID! No problem afterwards. I would also have trouble with her sitting at my dinner table after every assembly. She wanted to eat in the living room and watch TV while she ate. I accomadated her, but it was no more than 3 days before she was back with the family acting apporpriately.
The point I am trying to make here is the JW have no idea what respect for others mean and when someone respects them regardless of what they believe they don't know how to handle it. You, my dear, have a great opportunity to resolve the respect issue with your mother while she is alive. You can't do it when she is dead.

New Pope will be named Peter
by Monsieur ini remember reading somewhere in regards to a a 'prophet' of sorts who had predicted all the popes that have been chosen.. his 'prophecy' stated that the next pope (since benedict has resigned) would be the last before the 'end' would come.
his name would be pope peter.. let's see what happens.
we are suppose to know who the next pope will be before easter..

Why would anyone ask me to give a substitute talk
by sosoconfused inso last night we had the theocratic school.
i recently stepped aside from being an elder and i have been mentally gone for awhile now.. no one has talked to me or my wife and kids and i have been very brief with everyone.

SoConfused,
THe bad thing is that the latest generation really feels no need to use the bible because they have millions of books to read.
Now I'm not THAT old! When I was a teen in the 1970s the general rule was you had to look up at least one scripture. One time I threw together a last minute ladies talk without giving a rat's ass about what I was suppose to be working on and I did not mention one single scripture........you guessed it.... I was suppose to be working on the use of scripture. HaHa
Do they really not use the Bible at all anymore? Just their own publications? Good Grief... why is anyone still there yet?

Questions by JWs in 1976
by Doug Mason inin 1976, my friend bruce price was in contact with jehovahs witnesses who had become disillusioned through the debacle with 1975. bruce was the leading voice among the sda ministry in working for jws.
at the time, i was a member of the sda church.
although i left them about 25 years ago, to this day bruce and i enjoy a strong and genuinely warm friendship.. so, in 1976 bruce invited me to a meeting with one of the jws who was leading the disquiet in his congregation in dandenong (victoria, australia).

Gosh I am glad you were never a patriot for freedom like the American founding Fathers, or Scotland's William Wallace. If that were the case we would still be under the rule of Britian.

Thankyou dad, for making me think...
by Aussie Oz inson was up visiting today and we had some great little chats about all things watchtower.
i would say the chances of him going back are real slim now, for he was telling me of some of his own wtf research on the internet about them.. anyway, at one point he came up, gave me a big hug and said "thankyou for making me think".
it seems that all the little seed dropping and question dropping over the last 3 years really did work!
