Just an update....there will be a service held at the KH for Robin. At the very least, herhusband won't have to deal with the elders ruling this a suicide and not having freinds around.
If you look up the Anchorage Daily News in the Obit's section today, Robin's Obit is there.

I'm am the ex-jw Lisa refers to above. I knew her and her husband many years ago. I also see the husband at the gym I attend, he is a trainer there.
It's all really strange. There are so many things that just don't jive. We've had a bunch of snow lately and if the snow banks are large enough, I mean, who looks at a snow bank? You've seen one, you've seen them all.
At one point, they ran a B&B in there home. She was involved in a few marathons. From what I remember, they weren't very strong jw's.
I want to attend the funeral for the husband only if they (elders) treat it as a suicide. I don't know if any of you have known a jw to commit suicide and what the funeral services are like but I can tell all of you it's very sad. No one attends unless they can attend "with a clean conscience" (SP?) and even then, the services cannot be held at the hall. The service that I attended was at someone's home....and it was a small group.
The husband loved his wife very much, this much I know. I really feel for him. There are so many questions with this.
i just had an amazing, albeit fairly typical weekend.
i wanted to share with you guys and most especially any who are lurking or worried that life in "the world" leads only to crack addiction, aids, satan worship, etc.. friday: i had a fabulous evening out to a very nice, funky little italian restaurant with my 10 of my friends.
they'd gathered to celebrate my birthday early.
Life can begin again in your thirties...Ain't it great?!
as many of you know, i believe in remote healing and the power of prayer.
so i am asking those of you who also believe in these things to pray for me this time.

I sure did. I dated a black sister (we were supposed to get married) in another congregation. Her parents didn't like the fact I was white....Oh, and her father was a MS. Nice.
as mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!
Hoping and wishing for a safe surgery, and a speedy recovery.....

My father told me this when I was about 7 or 8 years old.
i am so terrified!.
#2 daughter came home from college on 12/18 with a violent headache, nausea, neck pain and great fatigue.
we took her to the dr. on the 20 and again on the 21st as she had kept nothing down for 3 days.
Oh my god. I am so sorry Brenda! My mother had a brain tumor. I know the feeling, it's so hard not being able to do anything but wait.
Your such a good mom. Things will be ok, she's very strong (just like mom). She'll get through this better than everybody else.
You have friends that will do whatever you ask.
