by minimus inat a number of elder's meetings with the circuit and district overseers, over the years, we were told that the governing body loved us.
the gb were said to truly appreciate all of our hard work in behalf of jehovah god and his organization..............i thought thay you would be pleased to know how the governing body feels about us.

X-JW Hypocrisy.
by DJ intolerance : the capacity for or practice of recognizing and respecting the opinions, practices, behavior or beliefs of others.. sadly, there is a double standard on this board practiced by many.
i have had a spat with stinky pantz about tolerance and we have both apologized.
this defintion is here for the others who think that tolerance is something that only christians don't have much of!

I'm of the mind that tolerance and respect go hand in hand, sometimes there is an opinion that we don't want to here out, but we tolerate the individual and there opinion and after hearing it sometimes we may find more truth in that person's opinion than we realized, so if we had not tolerated the person's opinion and heard it out, we may have lost out on a genuine opinion.
Then there's the old saying "Nobody's perfect".

How Many Here Are DF'd, Disassociated Or Not Worried That They Might?
by minimus ini'm curious as to whether the majority of the board's disfellowshipped.
and i'm curious as to whether or not push came to shove, that you would not be overly distressed if you did wind up getting df'd........as time goes on, i am caring less.

DF'D since 1990 and yes the push was needed, however the price was a great one to have to bare.

Talking about legalizing marijauna
by obiwan inwell i was discussing to a friend about legalizing "it" and he said it's not possible.
then i proceeded to tell him how it could be, here's how it could be.
first the government would award contracts to growers so it could be grown.

I have heard of the policy Canada is trying to pass, when i lived in Alaska a few years back it was legal to have a small amount on your person. I think it was the equivelant of about one joint. Oh and even though I brought up the subject of legalizing "it", I have never touched the stuff or any other drug for that matter. I just believe that to have booze legal and our leafy friend not is a bit hypocritical, there are too many similarities in the two with regard to addiction and the impairments it presents.

Well I was discussing to a friend about legalizing "it" and he said it's not possible. Then I proceeded to tell him how it could be, here's how it could be. First the government would award contracts to growers so it could be grown. Then it could be packaged in packs of oh say 5 and sold to the public. The government could tax the hell out of it and they would still sell like hotcakes. The government could police "it" just like alcohal, there are tests to tell if your high.
So,watcha think folks, yes or no.

Kingdom Hall being sold to church
by tinman72 inok, maybe not a real scandal, but this really bugs the hell out of me!
in short, the kingdom hall i went to as child and teen, is being sold to a church.
my mother (still active) informed me of this.

I think that's the new one you see. The one I went to was in the early 80's and then sold again. I'm pretty sure the one you see is the new one.

For those without mothers
by Lady Lee inmothers day can bring up many issues for some of us.
for some their mothers have passed away and the opportunity to say i love you in person is forever lost.. for others our mothers are lost to the borg.
in fact, we may never have had the opportunity to celebrate a mother's day with them.

Thanks, I can only hope.

When I lived in Indianapolis as a kid the org bought an old church downtown and used it for a place for circuit assembly's, I wish i knew how they explained that one.

Well I'm glad that my mom is gone, I know thats sounds extremely mean but if my mother was still alive I know she would be ssooo disappointed in me. It's easier to take her loss than to deal with the fact that she would be so hurt by me not being a jw anymore. Sorry, I know this is a downer but this is how I look at my situation with my mother.
