Reel to reel tapes and old Watchtower literature
by lastmanstanding init's been an emotional few weeks going through old watchtower literature, i mean old.
i have saved many things, some you have never seen.
particularly related to 1975, i have wts literature, even a big newspaper article about the 1975 prediction.. today, i started going through the reel to reel tapes.

Have you ever known elders who were more into being and elder than really being a believer?
by phoenixrising ini have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.
i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.
i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.

I had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap. I knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult. But many were into the small bit of power over a congregation and loved it. I used to tell an elder I grew up with, being an elder is like being the president of your local book club of 20 people. Its not really a big deal.

I think that the JW cult has done a lot more than bring a few law suits to bear. I believe they use any means legal or illegal they think they can get away with to stop anyone critical of the org. The Scientology cult has had more attention paid to it over time. We are just getting started on the JW cult. Don't be at all surprised to find out one day that the cult has not sent its minions to infiltrate events like the apostafest ect to get information on ones who are PIMOs. I can also see a huge clamp down on anyone who is trying to fade out. We have already seen harassment by elders on those who are apostates. Give these scum bags time they will ramp it up.

Are Ex-JW's Suffering From Burn Out?
by IWant2Leave inthe reason that i ask is, in the two years on this forum and you tube, i've seen ex-jw's either drop off entirely or make fewer and fewer videos.
i know the emotional toll can be high.
is that the sole reason, or is it cost (video) or do you think it's external pressure (legal or family)?
