First off its a cult and don't think it its not. Second as long as he plays with the fringes it is damaging to him and you. He needs to make a break and tell his family he is living his life and if they can not accept him for who he is then that is their choice.Very few JW family's who are really in the cult will let a former member have a relationship with a family member and not be advancing in the cult. He has to make a choice. If he gets reinstated it will be much harder for him to do that while dating a non JW. It will be seen as not having the right mind set.

Peace and security
by BourneIdentity inscrolling through the news this morning and i couldn’t help to think we are light years from any leaders crying out peace and security.
jws are going to have to wait another decade or two and see how things develop before they get excited about armageddon coming in their lifetime.

Waiting on a mountain top for the end to come is a fools errand. The JWs are giving up life now the only one they get for a promise that is never ever going to happen. This is exactly why the old ones cling so tight to this BS. You spend your life giving up living and sacrificing things like children, vacations and work to spend it in some BS cult and you can not bring yourself to saying you wasted your whole life.

I had a somewhat paranormal experience 2 days ago, but I think science is just light years behind on this.....
by Bad_Wolf infor the record i'm agnostic, never seen any direct evidence of spirits, afterlife, etc.
i've been visiting my mother during this corona ordeal.
a year ago i had a dream i was much older and talking to somebody about how my mom died this year but it was avoidable.

I can not say that paranormal things are not real as I can not disprove every hypothesis. All I can say is extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof. I have never seen any proof that any of this is real. Many people like Uri Geller have made millions off of people who are naive and want to believe when he IMO is a fraud and con man. I can go to vegas and see many shows where people do things that are outside the realm of reality. This is not them doing magic its them presenting things that seem to be super natural. One can not no one can skip the laws of physics. No one can levitate, no one can de-materialize, no one can read minds. So once this is out of the way you can look for more down to earth explanation's. Also there are coincidences.

Sorry for your loss. Its absolutely normal to feel relief of the death of someone who is suffering. Its also normal to feel guilty for feeling relief. The steps of grief are something to familiarize yourself with if you don't know them. I remember when one older mans wife died in the hall and he went to meeting that very night and everyone thought he was crazy. But he died a week later. People do some weird things under stress. When my mother passed away I sent my wife to put tires on my truck and went into hyper mode to find a part for my water heater. My brain needed distractions and could not deal with it immediately. Some of the dubbers looked at me like I was callous. It has nothing to do with lack of emotion but I had to stay busy to no become over whelmed.

I really don't know. But I don't think it can be broad brushed as for a reason. I think its a one on one case by case. I may have a different idea if I were not raised in. I never had a choice until I grew up.
