I got rid of all my WT crap and regretted it when I wanted to prove that certain statements were made but couldn't because I trashed the lot of it. If you can afford to store it, you may later be gald you did. Whats on-line is limited and doesn't go back very far. If you were raised a Jdub, as I was, there's much to be said for being able to back up your claims of what was and wasn't said thru the literature.

i have WT archive books all the way back to 1952, all about to be trashed, should i save something?
by roid inmy 90+ yr old grandfather was a jw elder, he's in a nursing home now & we're sorting through his old stuff.. has a lot of jw books, including wt archive compilation books all the way back to 1952. this stuff will probably all be thrown out.
we're all moving house so continuing to store it all would be a pain in the ass.. i remember hearing that the wtbts changed a lot of stuff when they transcribed all the books to dvd (and continue to deny it).
i've never actually bothered looking into it, but it'd be nice to be able to have some hard evidence i can later throw into people's faces >:] .. so, are there any good ones i should save?

If it continues to drop there will undoubtedly be some "NEW LIGHT" concerning the love of the greater number cooling off. See, fulfillment of prophecy: proof that these are the last days, and Jehovah is backing his people by using them to fulfill the prophets.........duh.

Both the WT and McCabe have submittted final briefs and requested oral arguments (rather then relying on the brief to represent them). Thats what I have surmised from the couthouse updates I get by email......the terminology of which I usually have to google to understand. So, this is what I boiled all the legal-ese down to.

:"mans inhumanity to man".

The TV news about Syria is truly disgusting, and it is only the tip of a much bigger situation that has been going on for milleniums.:"Mans inhumanity to man". But I can't get the scripture at James 4:17 out of my mind. "Therefore, if one knows how to do what is right and yet does not do it, it is a sin for him." Unless Jehovah God has a second set of rules for us and him, how can this not be corrected by Him? Or is he letting his own word condemn him? If we are to strive to be like him, then there is no limit to the wrongdoing. He does, after all, have the power to correct all the crap going on in the world.....is His not using that power "a sin for him"?

This is a very simple question asking why JW's don't follow clear Bible instructions given by Jesus: Matt.28:19 says clearly that followers are to be baptized "in the name of the Father, The Son, and the holy spirit". Why don't JW's follow this requirement in their beptismal preocess?

For the most part my experience sounds similar to --sd-7......When I quit almost 6 years ago life became hell for over 2 years....my 'christian' JW wife screamed "I hate you" in tantrums that would last from a few minutes to a few days for an almost 2 1/2 year period. I did my best not to retaliate in kind, but I gave in a few times. I think at one point I had a bit of a nervous breakdown.....I was sleeping alone; she had moved into another room......and woke up jerking around violently in my bed; I could not control my body. Quite scary....when I was finally able to stand I went to the room where she was sleeping and started shaking her hard. Her head was wagging back and forth and I realized I could hurt (maybe worse) her without much more effort. so I collected myself and went outside. At 1 oclock A.M. pacing the driveway for nearly 2 hours I had to tell her to get out of my face, stay away .... I didn't want to hurt her. I wondered how many neighbors picked up on the commotion. Life has never been the same. I have gone thru several stages of feelings toward her.....shock, dislike, vehemnet dislike, hatred, and now apathy. I don't love her anymore. We haven't been intimate or had sex for nearly a year I'm guessing. I care for her welfare, but not much beyond that....sort of like caring for a pet......not wishing any harm on it but not crazy about it either. I have wondered if she is having an affair, but if she is: good for her. I am contemplating the same for me. And thats the hard part of apathy....if there is an emotion, there is something to work with. Apathy offers nothing. But I have too much invested in this......45+ years, 2 adult kids, 5 g-kids, 3 g-g-kids, a paid-off house, no bills, 4 streams of income, cars paid for, etc.,etc........too much to walk away from or to be willing to give a huge chunk away to have .....what??...peace? Maybe, I don't know. So, I too live with an elephant in the room.
I have no advice for you. You have to do whats in your heart, but be prepared for the long haul. It usually isn't easy.

If you had a JC and spilled your "Personal Beans" did you really think it stayed confidential?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inwe all "know" jc's are suppose to be private....so that the uniniated, innocent, can speak freely.
i say, uninitiated, because once you spill your guts and the elders use your embarassing, heart wrenching story as a lead off at their next get together/party, for a laugh, you have been initiated into your local brothers hall of fame.. so, are those jc's, really private?.
can you really talk privately, about your love of violent video games, masterbation, oral sex, shop lifting, doing drugs, or "doing" anything or anybody, and expect total confidentiality in the watch tower society elder world?.

Designs, you are absolutely right. I've been there on all phases of judicial committees. Once as an 'offender', once as a witness, and 'way too many times as an elder.....all-in-all: What a crock of horse shit. I've heard 'elders' tell married couples not to discuss an adulterous event once they left that committee meeting; that it was never to be mentioned between them again. After the committee decided what action to take,it was over. What the hell kind of rotten advice is that??? Then one of the elders went home and told his wife the whole thing, and what a bunch of broken hearts that action created. All things considered, If you're gullible enough to believe you can trust 'em, then you get what you deserve.
