2012 Annual Meeting

2012 annual meeting - october 6th 2012.

The only doctrinal change I could see happening is having non-annointed sitting on the GB.
They must start grooming a next generation to replace the old men. They cannot have people born after the 70s proclaim to be annointed.

But then it might end up being something very meaningless instead.

Birth Control

i have never understood why, according to the wt, jws are okay (conscience matter) with birth control methods like the pill, mini-pill, depo-provera, and iuds.

i am not trying to spark an abortion debate.

but i was actually angry at the wt when i started researching how the mini-pill prevented pregnancy.

When in was still indoctrinated, when things were a Conscience matter, to me it often meant you still had to do obey.
You would not get disfellowedshipped for it, but you should still had to do the right thing . Otherwise you were spiritually weak.

I find this type of mind controle fairly violent.

It also works as a divide & conquer strategy.

Watchtower Library NOT identical to printed publications

i realise the title of this thread will come as no surprise to many of you.

i've certainly heard before of subtle variations between extracts from the watchtower library and the actual printed literature.. what i didn't expect was to find this openly admitted to in the license agreement for the watchtower library, where it says in article 4:.

4. limited warranty.

I also read these bound volumes in my folks library as a 7-10 y.o. I had access to older (40-50s) in print form from a dark blue embossed binders. I thought I was a weird kid. Glad to know I was not alone. lol.

-watchtower july 15 1950 page 216 pargraph 1 those seven appointed times of the nations ended in the early autumn of 1914, about october 1. before then the good news of the established kingdom could not be preached.

-watchtower october 15 1955 page 623 paragraph 7october 1, 1914, is now more than forty-two years ago and the kingdoms fight at armageddon is fast nearing.

The results so far - three months remaining for the 2012 survey...

i mentioned recently about the 2012 jw survey, and how we are falling behind with the number of votes in comparison with last year.. you may remember that, in response to this situation, i uploaded the following video to youtube in an attempt to garner more votes.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wpcgclxqda.

you'll be pleased to know that, in the four days following the launch of this video, the survey received 76 new votes - boosting the total number from 936 to 1,012.. it's great to see that the video has had such a good response.

at the current rate (19 votes per day) we would surpass 2,700 votes by the end of the year - not a mind-blowing number but a great sample nonetheless.. after chatting with juan viejo2, we both decided it would be good to post an article on the website letting people know the results of the survey so far.. here is the link.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/the-time-left-is-reduced-your-2012-survey-needs-you-2.
