  "i have been studying the bible for almost 20 years....after graduating in history and science comparing to the the bible, i have have come to to the conclusion that the bible cannot give you any reason to believe in it at all.

  so i wonder, why do you use the bible as facit to your believes?

  If the bible was god true communication with mankind, then it turned out to be very ineffective means to communicate. Primitive email is much more effective, design by mere imperfect man. This website is more effective then Gods means to communicate.

  Then, theirs all the confusion regarding this 'life saving message'. Currently there exists over 45,000 Christian denominations that profess they hold the truth. This is just Christians who hold the same belief that Christ is their messiah. Why so much confusion?

  Then theirs the evidence of the written word, was it by man? or God? Looks more like a message to control man, a lot of arbitrary laws designed to keep the upper echelon in control of the common folk and the slaves. If you notice the rich upper class can beat there slaves,' just don't kill them', have multiple wives (adultery, ok'd by god), commit atrocities against there neighbors ( ok'd, by the big guy) take there wives and daughters as slaves, rape, theft and murder. Not called that in the bible, it was a Holy decree to rid the land of unbelievers. Sound familiar, ISIS is still using that very same decree.

  was a man made date when jesus came and that a generation is not 102 plus years.. why not say something like this.when the disciples asked jesus for a sign and the end of the age.jesus gave them a composite sign and said all these things will take place.when-before the people now living(at the end of the age which no one knows)have all died..

  If they came clean it would be like the 'guards giving the prisoners the keys to the asylum and letting them free'.

  They have to many projects and lawsuits going to remove the shackles from there captives, does not make good business sense. You do know it's a business don't you?

  2) Education / science, We can now explain what was at one time attributed to gods wrath: Lightning, earthquakes, solar eclipse, etc.

  3) WT History (Lies, lies and more lies, throw in some failed prophecy's and you have a cult.)

  Toasting is Pagan - How many contradictions can fit in 2 pages, I found 5?

  the watchtower 2007 feb 15 pp.30-31 explains why jehovah's witnesses are not to toast.

  what is astounding is that for each point they then go on an explain why the point is irrelevant, yet still conclude toasting is wrong.

  what did people think when reading this?

  and he started discussing psalms 1:1 and how we today could "sit in the seat of scoffers".

  he then mentioned that many bros. and sisters criticize the org and think they are so smart by researching online.

  If you told the truth, I never would of come here! If you were open to real discussion, I would not have to stay here!

  If you really cared and taught unconditional love, 'you wouldn't hate us', you would abolish the disfellowshipping and shunning policy, that is unchristian and unloving.You would make your error's known and own up to your mistakes. You would be honest and say "we don't understand where we went wrong with the generation understanding, we apologize".

  "We have no idea where we went wrong with the 607/1914 fiasco, we apologize". "We have a major pedophile issue we are trying to correct it, our policy's were wrong, we apologize".

  Your own pride and haughtiness apostatized you from the Christ and the truth.

  Thoughts during the meeting today

  while i'm politely sitting during the meeting today, restraining myself from rolling my eyes as the brother drones on about how "having an independent spirit is devilish in nature" and "independence from gods organization only results in pain and strife", i only have one thought going through my mind over and over.

  "what would happen if i pulled out a gun and blew my brains out in this kingdom hall?".

  would anyone notice or care?

  Ya, it sometimes gets to me when go. I sometimes need to get up, go outside and get some fresh air.

  I cant believe, I used to sit through this nonsense for so many years and thought nothing of it, even brought my studies in and later asked them so what did you think. Would of been awesome if they would of said that's " total bullshit". Its weird when your in the bubble, its hard to see it for what it is, once your out its blatantly obvious its "total Bullshit".

  Take care of yourself and know people do care about you, we all care, we are all going through similar things. "Take heart"

  I lied to the elders

  i stopped attending meetings all together in january 2015. before that my attendance was irregular at best.

  my husband followed suit a few months ago after months of research, agony, and indecision on his part.

  from the very beginning i laid low and did not share with anyone what i found out about the witnesses because i did not want to be df'd.

  Hi atacrossroads

  We have all come to these cross roads and have had to make hard decisions, I admire your 'courage' in the face of so much hostility. Its so clear isn't it, that its a cult!

  I personally didn't want a confrontation with my aging mother or In laws, they are fanatical to say the least. Every sentence is marinaded with nuances of the 'Cult'. I never really noticed it, until I deprogrammed and took the blinders off, its like they cant express themselves without saying Jehovah, organization, truth or some other trigger word, its very annoying. I played out every scenario in my head and the outcome is just like you described. So I decided on a slow fade, I don't think there is a right or wrong solution just what work for you, in your situation.

  Regardless, It seams we lose, no matter what. The cruel words that there was "no point, you are going to die at Armageddon anyways" is really the crux of of the problem. They are so brain washed, they would rather give up their 'now' with you, there future grand kids and life's memories for a illogical future fantasy a utopia contrived by men. These very men that have built an empire on duplicity, their own literature convicts them.

  Take your time and say nothing to the Elders, "the only power they have is the power we give them". Strip them of that power and they shrink before your eyes. Welcome to the forum, read some of the 'waking up' experiences and post as much as you like, it therapeutic.
