Yes you are right nothing illegal was done and it was probably his right to make a statement and then leave. But if you are really trying to help others, this is a one time pop. Then all the negativity is heaped upon your motives and actions, so who benefits? The person creating the disturbance might of gotten something out of it but the rest are left in bewilderment and disgust.

The availability and effectiveness to be able to reason with a person with hints and questions about there faith, now that's what the GB fears because its effective. Posting on the internet is effective its where it all happened for me. Commenting on a Facebook or Instagram post about the best life ever hashtag, that's where you give them a gem to ponder, "Effective". I read stuff on amazon reviews of all places and left thinking about what was said, "Effective." Creating a disturbance at a peaceful gathering only makes you look disturbed. Creative but not effective.

can someone help me understand how the wt came up with the overlapping generation theory?

i just don't understand it even though i read the information several times.

The overlapping generation nonsense is made up to cover up a lie a really big lie, the 1914 fiasco. The rank and file are forced to accept it, don't need to understand it. Its not logical its not rational, its ridicules. That's why they want the rank and file to remain uneducated so there easier fooled and scammed.

Interesting, Here is the greatest man that ever lived but never wrote a word about the most important thing in life. He, being perfect and the son of God had all the answers, for example: What happens to us when we die? No real clear understanding to this day. Why does God allow evil? Who are the 144,000 are they the mediator's for mankind? Are they really the ones only to partake in the memorial and the rest of us watch? Who is the faithful and discrete slave? is it a parable or was there meaning and who would it be? This Generation would not pass away? Abstaining from blood mandate? So many thing he could of written about the smartest guy in the room and never laid pen on paper, Why?

it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?

the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.

the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Not surprised we have a lot of older ones in my hall and they just keep accepting all the changes as Jehovah's blessing, 'we must keep up with the celestial chariot'. As long as they keep drinking the kool aid they will swallow whatever's given to them, it seems odd to us because we see it from the outside looking in. It grossly apparent.

I remember the "1914 Generation will absolutely not pass away before the end comes", when I was studying to get baptized, I remember a elder trying to reason with me, saying "do the math, how many more years are left? 5?maybe... 7? Most of the anointed are in their 80's or 90's we are right at the threshold". "The doors of the Ark are open but not for long, Jehovah will close them and bar them closed, now is the time for action before its to late."

Now, they dismiss the whole thing as an unfortunate misunderstanding, clearer understanding has prevailed. yet no consideration for the lives affected, for the lives wasted in preaching lies. Now we must muster up courage and preach different lies, more complicated lies we cant even explain. The Overlapping Generations nonsense, I just consider myself fortunate, I unplugged when I did.

amazing that not only have we lasted so long but we're still thriving and growing.. thanks to all the people and often colorful characters who've contributed to the site over the years.

some are still here with us, some have since moved on, but all have touched each others lives in some way along our different journeys.. .

Great site, invaluable information, changed my life and continues to help me expand intellectually. When I first started lurking I was shocked at what was being said. I could not believe I was being lied too, that I was in a cult. Three hard years later, what a journey. Thanks Simon for keeping this site open and maintaining it, I can only imagine the long hours of hard work and endless amount of time it demands. I hope you can continue, as long as the bOrg exist you must likewise.

Anyone with half a brain, that has taken the time to research the society from it very beginnings has to know it's a scam, to many failed prophecies and so much deception to even be close to Gods true earthly organization. The top brass knows "truth" is not what there selling, but how do you release 8 million sheep into the wild? How do you come forward and admit it's all bullshit? The abstaining from blood deaths were for nothing, the military cards and the imprisonment for rejecting military service, nothing. Nazi concentration camps for nothing. How do you come forward now with so much blood shed? Its better to continue with the hope even if its a lie, then to come forward about the truth and expose your self to lawsuits and massive suicides for those lost sheep.

May I add, you will have much more success coming to a site like this where you can deconstruct there beliefs or can participate in a healthy, respectful debate about there mandates. There is more success with people coming to these sites, as we have seen in the last couple of months than any protest or disturbances in my opinion.

These type of disturbances send them into cult mode, they have been warned that apostates would ridicule them and are spiritually diseased hateful people, 'the seed of Satan'. With one purpose to try to destroy Jehovah's organization here on earth. Your playing into there martyrdom syndrome, there suffering for Christ complex. It does not work!

I remember the guys outside the District Conventions they looked crazy not the type I would be compelled to listen to or approach. They fit the description and actions the society gave them so there was a sense of validation that this was supposed to happen and they would act and look the way they did,"crazy". Remember these poor people ( jw's) are filled with angels and demon complex. Storming the lines only makes them build stronger defenses. So relax and beat them at there own game, live a fantastic life and they will take notice.
