Moment of awakening?
by Freeandclear ini just recalled something from my past that i've not thought about in a very long time, but it did have a significant impact on me whether i knew it or not at the time....... i have a sister who was born when i was 15. my family are not jw's thank the universe!
but me as an uberdub at the time convinced my young sister to have a study.
she was about 14 or 15 at the time i'd guess.

Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

That's why they keep drilling this into there heads.
At that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not. The elders must stand ready to help any who may now be wavering in their faith.” (w13 11/15 p.20)
They are grooming the rank and file for stricter shunning policies. The internet is exposing so much of their lies and deception, they need to do damage control and information control. Keep the ignorant, ignorant.

The Governing Body, Geoffrey Jackson assertively said at the ARC that they, do not ask their members to shun, that is not something we do.
7 A conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped. For example, a sister named Anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother. The mother wanted to visit Anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family. Anne was deeply distressed by the plea and promised to reply by letter. Before writing, she reviewed Bible principles. (1 Cor. 5:11; 2 John 9-11) Anne wrote and kindly reminded her mother that she had cut herself off from the family by her wrongdoing and unrepentant attitude. “The only way you can relieve your pain is by returning to Jehovah,” Anne wrote. —Jas. 4:8.
Ironic that the not covering up of wrongdoing is usually applied to those who have engaged in conduct that can hardly be considered as wrongdoing while those who have committed ACTUAL SERIOUS wrongdoing (eg: child abusers) have their wrongdoing covered up!Excellent point Divergent, Tell on your friends for having a little fun but STFU about the children getting abused! That's why we continue to expose them for what they are accomplices to a pedophile epidemic in Watchtower land!

Coming out of a coma is a good analogy. I sometime need to stop and figure out who, I really am and not just remnants of my cult personality coming through. Its like learning how to be a person again, how to be part of a wonderful global community. How to feel empathy for people and not chuck it up to Jehovah will take care of everything. I still tend to judge things for what I perceive them to be and not what they really are.Working on that!
Its like waking up 40 years into the future, your life is gone, In a "blink of an Eye".

Be ready to obey!!
by kairos inhttp://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20131115/seven-shepherds-eight-dukes/.
from paragraph 17-. at that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.. i think i know what the instructions will be.it's nothing new.

They already have - for all intents and purposes - a loyalty oath (in the form of the baptismal questions). Vidiot
True but nothing like Jim Jones loyalty test. Check this out.
Loyalty Test
In anticipation of an assault, Jones had his followers practice revolutionary suicide, drinking from vats of flavored water which he announced was poisoned. When they survived the “poison” the residents realized it was another test of their loyalty and that they had passed. -

December 18, 2012The Global Religious Landscape
Christians
Christians number 2.2 billion, or about one-in-three (32%) people worldwide. About half of all Christians are Catholic (50%). An estimated 37% of Christians belong to the Protestant tradition, broadly defined to include Anglicans as well as independent and nondenominational churches. The Orthodox Communion, including the Greek and Russian Orthodox, make up 12% of Christians. And people who belong to other traditions that view themselves as Christian (including Christian Scientists, Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses) make up about 1% of the global Christian population.7
Looks like Jehovah's witness are in last place 1% of the global Christian population. Statistically looks like God is with the Catholics. We need to start fact checking these truths!

Baby talk...
by The Rebel ingee reading my earliest posts, i feel i arrived here needing a head transplant.
of course we can't ban our earliest posts, and we can't claim we were misquoted, but then again think about it, many of us come here with geoffrey jacksons brains and mind control ruling our thinking.. so i looked back at my earlier posts, and i imagined the man i was who made them.
to be honest i hardly recognized him, i feel infinitely a better and wiser less pious now, however i i don't feel so clever nor do i have such a deep religious faith.. anyway, the thread was made because i have often read posters past threads in order to get to know them better, but it never occurred to me to read my own past threads, and i learnt i am glad i had the guts to make my earlier posts, but the person that made them is in the far distant past.

Hey Rebel
If I would of posted when I first started to wake up, I would of come off as an apologist! Mind filled with fever like delusions. I'm so glad I waited for the fever to subside and logic to kick in. Now I probably just offend some with my remarks! I honestly would never say half the stuff I share here, I'd come off as extreme. Normally, I never talk about my faith or religion unless you insist.
