Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

Tough scenario, I wouldn't spend the money on a attorney yet. First send them a letter this way you can have your say, let them know you will not be seeing them or explaining anything to them and if they persist you will have your attorney contact them. Tell them your an adult and you have nothing to explain to them or anyone else. If this doesn't get them off your back then have an attorney writer a Cease and desist letter to the BOE this will make them stop if they have any common sense. Good luck and keep us posted. -

I started to play the lottery once I faded and unlocked the mental chains. As far as the odds of winning, the way I see it; what are the odds of being born into a death cult out of 8 billion people apparently the "odds" owe me one. Last time we went to Las Vegas gambled some too, I don't take it seriously its all for fun.

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free"
by stuckinarut2 inah yes... how do the words attributed to jesus feel now?.
"you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free ".
knowing "the truth about 'the truth'" puts so much extra meaning into those words, right?.

Pontius pilate asked "What is truth?" Truth is relative to your geography and early indoctrination. The only truth we can prove is that we are here today and gone tomorrow, everything else is conjecture. Removing all other speculations and beliefs just because they where taught to us from infancy was freeing. Reexamining beliefs from nothing and coming to a evidence based decision is freedom. " Evidence makes belief unnecessary".
Truth is what you can prove not what someone else claims. Freedom come at a price, truth is the price you pay.

Could they make not donating a disfellowshipping offence?
by purrpurr ini'm wondering at how far the borg could go in begging for money?
their halls are already resembling the"money changers in the temple".
as they get sued more and more due to their pedophilic paradise their coffers will be ever more drained.

This will be the way of the future, the older one's that might object or have a hard time with tithing or electronic transfers, well sad to say they will be dying off and of little concern to the org. The new generation (overlapping generation) will be more acceptable to this since this is pretty normal to them. The kingdom halls are massive cash makers, once they are not producing they will be sold off. This is not the same organization you where born in, it's purely business now. -

They will implement 10% tithing or a lesser amount based on ability, it's coming. They will set up a system where you can only contribute through a debit or credit card. If you must donate in cash they will inquire 'why not just deposit and use debit instead'. If you insist in cash they will want you to hand it to them so they can give you a receipt, they will eventually remove all donation boxes and push for automatic monthly payments set up through your bank, this way they can track who's tithing and who's not. Obviously they will not admit they want to track contributions they will allude to some accounting simplicity reason. They might leave a box for the new ones and visitors but they will ask baptized members to follow direction in this loving provision.
Checks are a thing of the past they will accept them and work's for tracking purposes, but with all the fraud happening they will have a local needs explaining why its better to just do debit or credit it's safer, more convenient and some level of bank protection if their is fraud. They will also explain that the money will be transferred almost immediately unlike checks their is sometime as much as 5-7 day waiting period.
Time's are changing everything is going electronic transfer and banking, I no longer write out checks its 99% electronic banking for us and my business.
I don't believe it will be a disfellowshiping offense but it will mark the one's not contributing as week or dissenting from the flock. If this seems unlikely remember what you thought about the internet and TV evangelism.

Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?
by raven ini've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.
anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?
i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

I used to believe in the spirit world. Listen when your raised in a cult that drills into your head day and night that God and Satan are in battle mode and Michael the Archangel battled with the serpent and his angles. Then cast them to the vicinity of earth...so now they reside among us. Don't forget that Satan roams the earth:
Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8Then you have the fanatics with the inanimate possession stories, smurfs and P&G and spiritism in books, music and movies. After awhile even the most logical minded start to believe. I know now that they are figments of the imagination induced by the fever of indoctrination. Read about the Salem witch trials....do you really believe the 20 or so innocent people who where burn at the stake where evil or witches? Evil were the ones burning them with fear conjured by religious fanatics. -

The smug arrogance of "having the truth".
by stuckinarut2 inhas anyone noticed that witnesses (from the top down) seem to have a quiet form of smug arrogance toward all non witnesses?.
perhaps it comes from being told how "special and unique" they are but they end up looking down on all normal members of the community because they are not witnesses.. so any form of "love" they show those in the territory is also limited as long as they accept the message...otherwise they are viewed contemptuously as "worldly" and therefore of little value...after all, they will be destroyed right?.

Be careful what you wish for (in case you want to wake up your spouse)
by nevaagain ini want to spare you a long post about my background.
because this topic is about something else.a small information is that i knew ttatt before i got married.
but then i somehow pushed it back for quite some time because i didnt want to change my life and it was convenient to instantly meet new people when you move into a new city.couple of years into my marriage and seeing all the changes in the jw my thirst for ttatt resurfaced.

Sorry nevaagain
Sound like her true authentic personality surfaced to the top. Once you realize no one is watching you, their are choices to make. Who really am I? What do I stand for? and what is my passion and purpose in life? She is merely being her true self, move on...... she clearly isn't the person you taught she was. Didn't hear anything about kids consider your self lucky.
